some associates (of various religious/spiritual backgrounds) and i were having this debate. we just happened to be using the bible as an example.
are there things in the bible or other religious books that allow us room to apply exceptions to them?
one example.
the bible says don't lie.
(manmade exception) it's okay to tell your kids there is a santa/easter bunny or tooth fairy?
someone argued that it was too cold hearted to tell your child there was not a santa if you celebrate christmas.
my question is, what about the fact that it's a lie?
what do you think?
