Good evening ladies, I have been lurking since April last year. I am finally ready to come out the dark. First I would like to thank all of you ladies for the wonderful advice that you give each other. Without knowing, you were also advising me.

I decided to take charge of my hair Jan of 2003. The month before, I had about 4-5 inches chopped off due to excessive breakage. My hair was severely broken in the back due to overprocessing. I used to relax my hair every 4 weeks. I also made a mistake once and bought motions super instead of my usual mild. Well since I bought a big tub, I couldn't let it go, so I used it and that was the biggest mistake of my life.

I have since gone back to my motions mild, I do condioner washes 4-7 days a week and shampoo and deep condion once a week. I am now stretching my relaxers out with my first challenge being 10weeks, I am currently at 7 1/2 weeks. Oh, I also take my vitamins daily...multivit, silica, b-complex, biotin, vit c, evening primerose, amino acid, msm, zinc...it's alot but I'm used to it now.

I always enjoy looking at all your albums. Thanks for all the inspiration.

Hi meka, through many trials, I think I have finally simplified my regimen.

In warmer temps, I conditioner wash daily, But it colder temps, I was every other day, so about 4 times a week. I use cheap condioners like v05, and motions detangling conditoner for kids when I'm closer to touch up time (great slip). Once a week I shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo and do a deep condioner with motions condioner, with some olive oil and occassionally some peppermint oil added. Once a month I use a clarifying shampoo, do protein contioner with motions CPR, or Lakir cholesterol condioner.

98% of the time, my hair is in an updo after I do a braid out. When I do my condioner washes, I spray in my home-made leave in (coconut milk, rosemary oil, olive oil, wgo, almond+honey oil, v05 condioner, garlic conditioner, water), then I use my home-made oil mix (unrefined shea butter, 100% coconut oil, castor oil and carrot oil). I then braid my hair in 4-8 braids. In the morning, I undo the braids and wear it up in a french roll for 1-2 days and do it all over again, until shampoo day. I use heat (no blow dryer, just a flat iron) once every 2 months. I always air dry. I will occassionally wear a bun, but it gets boring for me unless I do some twists in the front.

Oh and for those surge users out there, I use surge 1-2x a week. I put mine in an applicator bottle mixed with some rosemary oil.

I hope this answers your question.
