For some reason I got a kick out of this one stray hair. The relaxed hair is holding on by the grace of God being that in 6 days that it will be 1 year since I had a relaxer lol.
Thanks Swifty! I was really low maintenance lol. I did those mini braids and basically left it alone beside washing, moisturizing and sealing, with the occasional application of hair mayonnaise to the ends. It probably helped that I didn't use combs except to part. That's a lot of growth for a year! Good job!
Your retention is fantastic @ItsMeLilLuckyI tried to take a good picture
Thank youYour retention is fantastic @ItsMeLilLucky
I do not relax bone straight because it would be hard to keep my braids (no weave just my own hair) in lol I use Hawaiian Silky Mild Lye relaxer. And I use the timing for fine hair (I don't really have fine hair, but that timing leaves the perfect amount of texture. I also don't use combs for the application process either just my gloved hand. A pair of gloves for each side. Part of the reason why I stretch so long lol leaves a tiny bit of room for error) . I do the half and half method (I usually do left and right) and use 13 minutes for both sides. I also do not use combs, except to part, and once a year for my silk press. I don't usually get the silk press the same time as I do the relaxer. I do the relaxer in the summer months, and the silk press once it cools off cause I sweat like it's nobody's business lolYour hair looks great! @ItsMeLilLucky When you relax once a year, do you leave it on until your hair is bone straight or you leave texture in your hair?
Haven't posted in a while. I've decided to start my loc journey. Here's my hair the day after my first retwist appointment. I decided I want to leave my ends curly.
Hair looks thick, cottony soft and beautiful!Last weekend I applied amika's smooth over pro treatment. I used the directions for straight hair. This is my hair after a week of getting caught in the rain, humidity, and spin classes. It won't enable me to maintain day 1 sleekness in humidity, but my hair still looks blown out instead of immediately shrinking up to my ears so I'll take it.
Results are supposed to last 6-7 weeks so I'll try to provide an update then.
