Ever had a product turn on you?

I have this STUPID Organics Carrot Oil Cream that my brother and I thought was AMAZING! I used it for about a month before it started to suck:wallbash: and he used his for about two months before giving it to me.

I hate wasting money:nono: even though it was only about 4 dollars

I've tried clarifying, it still sucks. After I use it, my hair gets hard...but the next day it gets soft??? It's weird!

Should I just give up and toss it or revisit it in a month or so? Mind you, I think carrot oil makes products go bad faster and it'll start turning yellow eventually.

What do you think and WHY do products stop working?

Yes. After a year of consistent use and singing the praises. Cantu shea butter leave in eventually turned my hair into straw.

Curl Junkie Banana & Hibiscus Deep Fix. I had just bought another batch to when it started to turn on me ...

Yeah Nexxus Emergenceè worked wonders for my relaxed hair. But during my transition it almost messed me up. And keracare humecto didn't provide me with the moisture needed to correct the balance.
I really need to get rid of the emergenceè. I had only used that bottle once.

I think hair can get used to a product and become ineffective. At first I used to think this was the PJ in me trying to justify buying new stuff, but I can see other people have the same problem. This is why I think you need a couple of staples within each category ie DC, poos etc and at least they can then be used in some sort of rotation.

*sob* qhemet burdock buttercream...used to be the only thing my hair liked but then all it started doing was tangling it something fierce and it just was drying it out..... so now my hair love love LOVES nourish and shine for now... lol

Sallys Argan Oil started of great but then it dried my ends out :( I love the smell but that stuff is no bueno for sealing my hair

Yes! In the beginning of my HHJ I shampooed with ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo weekly, I know it's a chelating/clarifying poo, but it was so moisturizing.

This was while I was away at college and the water was extremely hard so when I moved back to my home state where there's soft water ORS turned on me....and it was ugly, I mean it stripped my hair and left it tangled :nono:
