ever buy your hair color from the \"other\" aisle?

i've had such bad luck with coloring (semi permanent) my hair with brands made for sistas that i've thought about trying one made for white folks. i don't know if its my hair texture, or what.

all the time.

I use Sebastian, nature's instincts and L'oreal Casting.

The only color I use for women of color is Textures and Tones and Adore.

I only use hair color from 'that' aisle

I like Feria the best, mostly because I like the conditioner that comes with it.

Yes, since I was a teenager. I've tried the Af-Am geared dyes but they just don't work as well for me. I like Feria, Ultress, and Nice & Easy. My mom uses Feria too.

The conditioner does rock..they really should sell it on its own!

Re: ever buy your hair color from the \"other\" aisl

are any of these semi permanents?

Re: ever buy your hair color from the \"other\" aisl

I used Natural Instincts.... its a semi and was pretty good

. I had to use my own conditioner though.

feria revlon and loreal are brands i have tried no difference to me just make sure you condition afterwards

Re: ever buy your hair color from the \"other\" aisl

I use Natural Instincts more times than I do L'Oreal Color Spa. I ditto on using more of your own conditioner other than the one in the kit. And to answer the prior post, Natural Instincts, Color Spa, Sebastian, etc., are semi-permanent colors that lasts 28 shampoos. To keep the color looking fresh, make sure you use a corresponding shampoo and conditioner designed for color-treated hair. A good example is L'Oreal Color Vive with built-in UV protection to prevent color from fading. And BTW, welcome to the board, kaybeegee!

I've used Natural Instincts many times and I love it. It leaves my hair feeling so nice and doesnt have an awful smell.

Re: ever buy your hair color from the \"other\" aisl

I've always used colors from the "other" aisle, but recently tried Clairols Textures n Tones in bronze. I like it because it has no ammonia. For the most part the sista colors tend to be too harsh.

Of course, I used Feria, Garnier Nutrisse (really liked this one) and soooo many more I can't even remember....

Yes, I really like the Garnier Nutrisse line, but the color I normally used has been discontinued.

Ladies,

For the hair colors mentioned here, you've indicated that they were semi-permanent. What about any hair colors that you've used from the other aisle that are "rinses"? Do you have any recommendations for those?

Thanks.
