Another hair board friend sent an email to the WGHO people. I've never used any of their products and don't know much about them, but I found the response she got from them to be interesting. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The shelf life is indefinite, it will actually improve a bit with age. Even at ten years and longer, it is good.
In my opinion, trying to feed the hair cuticle directly has drawbacks. You may immediately feel that your hair is thicker and smoother. That would only be because the proteins in the conditioner (yogurt) fill in the crevices or 'pot holes' on the exterior surface of the cuticles like a patch. Those proteins do not become part of the organized protein structure originally formed at the matrix (hair root). But those fill-in patches, as they decompose, will corrode the portion of the hair that they are in contact before falling away, leaving even larger holes on the surface of the cuticle. In the not so very long run, your cuticle will become more worn out as a result, forcing you into a progressive cycle of relying on protein conditioners. Once formed, the hair can only benefit from emolience and moisturization, which keeps the surface of the cuticle free of debris while being protected from dryness and micro-abrasion stress.
Sodium bicarbonate, unfortunatey softens by weakening molecular integrity. It immediately destroys the protein membrane of red blood cells, causing them to burst and will chew away the hair cuticle as well. It makes cookies very soft, causing them to 'melt' in your mouth. Applied directly to the body, it wil cause the body to melt too. On the skin, it also eats at the corneal layer, making it 'soft'. Skin, however exfoliates and re-generates quickly ( we, still, do not recommend using it on the skin). However, once the hair is damaged, the longer it is, the longer you will have to wait for its replacement.
Essential oils, undiluted have a tendency of drying out and possibly damaging the hair. The Wild Growth Light Oil Miosturizer has that deodorizing ability to, when applyed right after applying Wild Growth Hair Oil, neutralize Wild Growth Hair Oil's heavy odor, leaving a clean fresh scent. Along with WIld Growth Hair Oil's Hair growth nutrient complex, Wild Growth Light Oil Moisturizer also has advanced moisturizing qualities, for even more improved hair growth and breakage prevention.
