Eloped?

Has anyone eloped then had a wedding/ reception or reception later? Did it feel any less special because you were already married? My bf's sister did this last year and wedding is happening later this year mainly for the family. My cousin also did this as well. I also want to do this whenever its my time for my own reasons.

We eloped--we were supposed to have a reception last year, but I ended up pregnant. Althoug I still want one, I'm starting to feel like a reception wouldnt be special anymore--maybe just an anniversary party will suffice?

I'm interested in other opinions as well.

This is what I would do...I'm not even sure about the reception later to be honest. I would just want an amazing trip somewhere with my husband. The older I get the less appealing a big white wedding is to me.

I agree with Lesedi, make sure you don't cheat yourself out of memories or feeling special. It's not an ordinary day and you are still a bride. Good luck!

I think so. But we had a courthouse wedding first for practical reasons, not just because we felt like doing it.
