Elasta QP No Base (lye) relaxers

Since we just found out that Elasta is made by Kenra the same folks that brought us Elucence. Can it really be that bad? I know their mango butter is the bomb. I first posted about it in November and there has been a constant buzz ever since. I know armyqt has tried alot of their products, she might have better insight.

I'd like to know if anyone uses this relaxer and likes it as well. Since their other products are so great, I wonder if their relaxer is great too... /images/graemlins/look.gif

LD,

What are you using now? I use Revlon lye, but have never heard of the other product. I'm happen with what I use, but I wonder if it is available locally or only online?

Edited to add: nevermind, I see in another post that you use Affirm.

A lady at my job self-relaxed with Elasta. It looked really nice too. However it was the no-lye version. I am sure that the lye is even better though.

Thanks Ladies for the responses.

The Affirm is getting HARDER to get hold of. The stupid people in the hair shop can't give proper information about when it's going to be in. I asked him yesterday and he said in 2 weeks. I said if I come back in 2 weeks and it's not there then I'm coming back looking for him. He told me to speak to the man that deals with the orders of Affirm, cause I was deadly serious, I know how these people like to like to keep their customers sweet. He told me that that aren't allowed to stock the Affirm anymore. Why friggin lie??? /images/graemlins/mad.gif Sometimes if you threaten people they tell you the truth /images/graemlins/grin.gif and it works.

Anyway the Elasta Range hasn't let me down so far and we (myself and Almond_Delight) are looking for a superior LYE relaxer that's easily accessible. I may just suck it up and go with the Elasta Relaxer, but if we can somehow get the Affirm through her aunt (a hairdresser) then even better. I'm just a bit wary of trying anything new after the Affirm being an excellent relaxer for us.

I used the Elasta lye relaxer on my hair and it did nothing! I contribute part of the outcome to my lack of application skills because I have a lot of super thick hair.. but back in the day when I used to no lye kits I got better results than I did with this relaxer. So I would say proceed with caution...

I've used this relaxer and I hated it. It didn't straighten well at all. Also I remember it burning more than other lye relaxers I've used.
