For those of you who are considering on giving up on MB, please try it on wet hair(if you havent sone so already).....it never fails to leave my hair soft, bouncy, shiny, with a delicious smell

I usually use it on my wet ends which tend to be drier than the rest of my hair. I think the hair absorbs the MB better when its wet, cause i havent found it as effective on dry hair. Happy growing

Pebbles, LondonDiva, Lindy, and Crystal THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP on the mango butter, it definitely would have been a waste of money if I purchased it, because I need products with a thick consistency in order for it to moisturize my hair. You guys saved me a trip to the store . That's why I love this BOARD!!!!!

let me guess? you are a pj? that was funny.

Lindy,

I'm with you! I don't find it to be anything spectacular aside from the smell. S-curl blows it away for moisture and where I live, it's much cheaper, too.

I used this for the first time today after Daviine was kind enough to give me a sample and so far I really like it..It moisturized my hair without weighing it down..I usually use products with a thick consistency, but they also usually weigh my hair down, I'll be adding this to my list of staples..

Thank you all for suggesting this!!

Completely agree! I only use it on wet hair and it soes wonders. I use it on my son's hair as well when it is wet.

When you say s curl, do you mean some type of regular moisturizer because the only s curl products i've ever heard of is stuff that you spray when you have a curl? i'm assuming they have a whole line of products though? if so, what is this moisturizer that every is talkin' about? (pj syndrom flarin' up:) thanks!

This is the one most of the ladies here are talking about...

Walgreens! That's the only place in St. Louis that I could find the stuff--luckily, cause I was about to pass out from Mango Butter lust after reading so many positive posts!:)

I'd noticed that the two stores that I found (one on Olive and Hanley and the other on Manchester and McCausland...for JenJen) only put out two jars at a time and I'd skulk by each week or so to snap 'em up. The other day, I was in the second store and was buying the two jars that they had out. I talked to the clerk and asked why it was that they never had more. She explained that they didn't sell too much of it and didn't want to order a lot just to have it sit out. So, I asked her if she'd order me some the next time they ordered their whopping two jars and she said yes. I should have 'em Wednesday or Thursday.

As for leaving St. Louis, JenJen,I am going to get my Ph.D. at the University of Colorado. Luckily, winter is my favorite season!:) Can't say I'll miss these STL summers...whoo!

I know I'm not a PJ 'cause I am still on the routine that I found worked for me. But what in the world (aside from all out crazy) does it make me if I buy a case of something??

I'm glad someone finally posted something besides a rave on this...

I wanted to see if anyone DISliked it and, if so, why. The complaints about it being too light are promising...
laugh.gif

That means it might actually WORK on me. I'm going t try it on wet hair when I do. I'm not hating on the raves - but I just KNEW everyone couldn't love it so and I wanted to see what the criticisms were if any.

Thanks ladies!

(LD - we missed the stuffings out of you!)

OK; I tried the Mango Butter on my wet hair ends today as I did my roller set and my hair came out nice and bouncy; it didn't weigh my hair down at all.

It looks like this product just may be a keeper after all!!

I probably will not re-purchase, only because I have other products which work just as well, and I need to use those up.

I use the Elasta QP MB, the same way I use Khiels Silk Groom, on wet hair. It moisturises without that greasy heavy feeling, it smells terrific, it has fantastic ingredients and is considerably cheaper than Khiels. Will it replace Khiels Silk groom, probably not. Is it a winner, most def!!!

I found some of this today at Wal-Mart, like the 5th Wal-Mart I've gone to before finding a big section of black hair products. I felt sooooo good that I was actually looking at a lot of the products that y'all mention here. I'm washing my hair tonight. I plan on doing a hot oil treatment, wash, condition, Infusium 23 Leave In, and then add the Mango Butter! Gosh, that's the most stuff I will have ever done to my hair in one sitting. I'll tell y'all how it turns out.

Lecaste!!!

Congratulations on going after your Ph.D!!! That's a wonderful reason to leave St. Louis. I wish you all the best!!!

I have been looking for this product, but no luck so far. I tried the Sally's nearest my house as well as a black beauty supply store in my town and neither one carried it.

Any ideas about where to get this on line??

You can order it at the address below. It costs $4.49 there, but you will have to pay shipping & handling.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from them probably 3 weeks ago, and it's just now getting shipped. (They claimed they were in the process of opening another store, so the internet orders were backed up...) You might want to call first and see if everything is back to normal now. HairstylesDirect

I like it, I bought it a few days ago and I plan to use it every other day to moisturise my hair. It's too early to say if it's a keeper, though

I love my mango butter!!! I normally use it on my hair when it's wet. I also use it on my ends when I use my caruso rollers. This gives my hair great bounce.

Titansgirl, that's a good suggestion about using the mango butter when you caruso, I'll try that, perhaps tomorrow. I use it on wet and dry hair periodically and it smells good and leaves my hair soft.

Princess,
Thanks for pointing this out! I actually haven't tried the Mango Butter yet, but I have some John Frieda Moisture Remedy that I basically had in the closet collecting dust because it didn't do a thing for my hair dry, but I pulled it out, wet my hair and then applied it on my hair wet. It's doing a lovely job at keeping my nape area soft and moist all day long. It's also keeping that area kinda curly too, which looks kinda cute!!! So this theory works with other moisturizers too! I will probably try the Mango Butter when the John Frieda's all used up!
Thanks again! I love this board!

I put my hair up in a bun after washing. Then after over 24 hours it still wasn't dry, so I decided to take it down to dry. It was really wavy and nice looking. When it dried I put more mango butter on the ends and put it back up in a bun. It's not so good on dry hair like the others have expressed, but I do like the effect I get from using it while my hair is wet.

Despite my initial reservations, I'm really starting to like the mango butter. At night I've been spraying my hair with UBH Dew and then coating it with the Mango Butter. This has been working great! I have to admit, I may even like it better than my beloved Vitapointe (
shocked.gif
) because that tends to weigh my hair down after a couple of days (probably due to the mineral oil), but so far the Mango Butter hasn't!!
