Hey guys, I just bought some mango butter, and am not sure what to do with it. How do you all use it? Any suggestions for me?

TIA!:)

The Elasta QP Mango butter is a moisturizer that is mostly water which means it's should moisturize your hair well. You can use it on wet or dry hair just scoop some out melt it on your hands and apply to your hair especially the ends then style. I don't like to use it by itself on dry hair because for me it doesn't make my ends feel moisturized. I usually rinsed my hair in the morning and apply Neutrogena triple moisturizer silk touch leave in. I then add the mango butter on top to seal in the moisture.

I use it to slick down my NG and this is my fav product for that. It get the job done! (and I am 4b) I also use it so smooth and moisturize my ends.

I decided to buy this a couple months because I noticed so many of the ladies use this as one of their staples. This just proves that you just have to find what works for your hair. This product did not work for at all. It was nice and creamy the first couple of times I used it, but then it started drying out and when I applied it to my hair it would clump. I have since switched to Protective BreakFree. I wish this product would have worked for me because I loved the smell. But it is a definite NO NO on my list.

I LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV mango butter...I use it for my ends sometimes as a moisturizer and sometimes to seal...also helps to lay down my frizz bunnies (edges)...

it lasts longer when I use it only for those things...

A lot of you are using it on your ends to moisturize, but when I put it on my ends, it doesnt seem like it does anything but make my hair shiny :perplexed . In other words, it doesnt feel like my hair is moisturized after I use it, so I go over it with s-curl to be on the safe side. IDK, I'll try it again when I get home

....And Thanks for all the replies everyone!

I think the key is to use just a little on the ends. I always hold my head upside down and put it on my ends that way. It seems to work well at getting to all of my ends when I do it like that. I never use alot of it.

I love the way it smells, but it just doesn't do much for me. I tried using it on my edges...doesn't smooth them down like Stiff Head does. I tried it on my ends....felt good at first, but eventually left them feeling dry. It does add some shine to my hair, though. *shrug*

I am grateful that I learned about this product through LHCF. It's great! My hair cannot tolerate oil well and this product keeps my edges and ends moisturized without feeling greasy. I put a little on my ends before I pin curl my hair at night and in the morning the ends are soft. Sometimes I seal with jojoba oil as well.

I like it but don't use too much of it. If I can see it on my hair I've used way too much. So I use about a quarter sized dab for my whole head.

I use this all over my hair concentrating on the ends. I can only use a nickel size amount every day cause my hair does not tolerate too much product on it. I then seal with some Kemi Oyl. My hair seems to like it thus far.

Hmmm I forgot all about this. I have some in my drawer at home. I used to use it on dry hair to moisturize it. Sometimes to lay my edges down. Since I started using the blue fantasia gel I haven't used it. I might have to go dig it out.

I looooove the Mango Butter. I use it on my damp hair instead of setting lotion when doing a pin curl set. My hair usually comes out soft. I'll have to try it on my edges when doing a bun.

I use it to make my edges lay down and on my ends when I'm wearing buns to moisterize. A little goes a long way.

I use it for curl defnition. I apply it to my hair while Im in the shower by scrunching it on the ends.I also use it for slicking my hair back into ponytails. If my hair is dry it doesnt work. I think that its too thcik to penetrate hair in its dry state.

I just take a little bit and slide it over my fro after i've applied all my other products to protect my ends and give the ends of my curls that added spring. I'm not sure what it is, but I feel like mango butter is lacking in something...maybe if it added sheen?

Same here, it made my ends feel dry unless I kept applying it throughout the day. The smell was totally yummy, though.:)

Me too! The stuff is amazing! This is my staple moisturizer.

I put my hair in four ponytails, and rub it on my ends, edges, and kitchen area. I then seal with whatever hair oil I have handy.
