I used an egg, honey and olive oil as a dc followed by another conditioner last wkd. I could barely stand my hair afterwards, it felt wonderful but the egg smell was horrid. Anyone else notice this? I wonder if some essential oil's would hide the smell?

Um, no. I've been mixing an egg with a protein treatment for about 3 years and my hair has never had an "egg" smell. Was it an old egg? You can try covering it up with EOs. Can you describe this smell? Are you sensitive to smells?

Sorry no egg smell here either only strength n softness ill start doing this again when my 2 protein conditioners run out its really a great treatment

I've never had an egg smell, either. Did you use a fresh egg? Is it possible the egg spoiled somehow?

I've been doing egg treatments for a long time. Very few times I've had my hair smell like eggs. Did you skip the shampoo step? I don't use Shampoo often but I always have to make sure I condition extra times to get all the eggs out.

Also, if your egg is going bad, it will be harder to get rid of.

To all the ladies that replied, thank you. This was the second time for my hair and the 1st for my daughter, both times fresh eggs were used and we both noticed it. The smell wasn't. A rotten egg smell or something funky but something different.
