Effective Reconstructor Conditioners/treatments...

...other than the usual Aphogee 2 Min?

I noticed that I always focus on buying moisture deep conditioners; I want to incorporate more reconstructor/repair conditioners from now on. Which ones have you found to be effective? Has anyone tried the Shescentit Okra reconstructor? I have tried Komaza Care already as well.

SheScentIt Okra is a good one. I like how my hair felt strong, yet soft.
APB has a Keratin one that is supposed to be good.
My hair is finicky. It responds okay to reconstructors but even better to hardcore protein.

ITA! The Joico K-Pak Revitaluxe is also excellent
I used the Revitaluxe early last year and I'm scared to try it again. It could have been totally coincidental because I was in the midst of a setback due to heat damage but the Revitaluxe seemed to make things worse or at least it did not help. I also read some horror stories about it online.
Just wanted to share that.

Long before I knew of the forum I read in a hair magazine that you should alternate moisture and protein each wash. So armed went that information I went to Sally's and purchased the Ion treatments for moisture and protein. I still have both in my stash to this day and I am huge product junkie. The name is Ion Repair Solutions Reconstructor.
That's what I'm doing now, a hard core protein one week, and a deep condition and clay mask session the next.
I'm liking it so far... (1 month in)

Joico K-Pak Intensive Reconstructor is amazing!

This one?

Did you follow with a moisturizing DC? I think the Revitaluxe is underrated because Joico marketed it as a treatment that provides both softness and strength.

In my opinion, the Revitaluxe is a strengthening treatment (i.e protein intensive). I need to follow with at least a moisturizing rinse out conditioner like the Joico Moisture Recovery, then the result is silky, strong hair with lots of body.

Agreed @nymane

Last night, I revisited a bottle of my Komaza Care Protein treatment (I forgot I had it). Hunty, that Komaza Care asked me why I was looking elsewhere? :bat:It made my hair feel so strong. I forgot how good it was.
Still, I want to find an on the ground dupe (or better). I will give Joico a try.

Yes I did... I'm guessing my hair was just in a crap state lol and I can't blame the product.
But I think my hair just didn't like it as much as the K Pak Intense Hydrator which is a staple of mine.
And my opinion is tainted on the Revitaluxe because I read horror stories about people's hair falling out from it. Someone even said she was starting a class action suit :spinning:.

I thought that Revitaluxe is supposed to be the perfect balance of a Moisture and protein treatment? I never needed to use a moisture conditioner afterwards as my hair was very soft.

HTN Amino Protein is awesome and co-signing on the Keracare treatment.

I love Komaza products!!

Interesting - that's certainly what Joico marketed as (i.e. perfect balance of moisture/protein). For me, I have to follow with a rinse out conditioner and let it sit for 3-5mins.

My hair is so greedy; after protein, it must have moisture too...sheesh
