EASIEST length to grow??? Input ladies??

I def. think nl to sl is the easiest. That's the length that I always get to and my hair growth comes to pretty much a stop.

Really? Because the length I am finding the hardest or slowest to get to. I have never been CBL in my life. But I am trying to be consistent in my regimen now and I am seeing results. My hair is getting longer so that means that I am retaining hair.

If I ever get past this dreaded bottom NL/barely CBL hair, then I will let you know :lachen:

The easiest for me was going from an EL bob to SL. It didnt take much effort at all and grew really quickly. Now getting to APL is a different story. Its just the devil. Its like my growth slowed down. Its extremely annoying.

Really? Again, what are you ladies doing? I get major hair growth but I was having severe hair retention problems because I have never gotten the fast hair growth between NL and SL.

Hopefully with this new regimen, I will see results alot quicker. I am seeing results but my hair is uneven.

It was easier before I was DIYing because I was getting rollersets every 2 weeks, but all I did was get a wash, dc, and rollerset. That was it! and my hair grew. I need to learn to rollerset! But all I'm doing now is bunning and I've gotten from the top of my neck to the bottom in 4 months, so hopefully i'll be cbl or sl by may

Hopefully that happens for me too. Again, my hair is pretty much uneven, the back is past my shoulders and the sides is touching my shoulders, my front covers my face, etc.

The problem is, I think I need for myself to measure my hair in inches instead of NL, CBL, SL, etc. Because my hair is so uneven all over. So 8 inches on the side or 10 inches on the crown, etc. I think that helps me better.

For me it was from Neck length to shoulder length. Oh my god, it seem like it took forever. And i coudlnt do anything with it hardly because it was too short, even to put in a ponytail.

After I hit shoulder length, my hair grows like weed. Shoulder to APL to BSL is a breeze...

I hope so :yep: for me at least!

i guess its hereditary. spl? .. Everyone in my family has long hair.. My mom hair grows extremely fast, and shes prob a 4a.. im more of a 4b... So if your hair has never been longer than shoulder length, at its best health, maybe it wont get any longer...
But you can always take MSM to lengthen your growing phase..

good thread, and interesting responses... but what is DIYing.?

I don't know. My mother, her mother, and her mother, her mother all had waistlength hair.

My grandmother's father mother and the women in their family all had waistlength hair as well.

I don't know about my paternal grandmother's hair but I do know that there are plently of people here who have displell that myth that if there hair has been a certain length it won't grow past that length so we know that's not it :yep:

My problem again is retention. I'm working on that and I have changed my reggie and I am seeing results. I just have to be patient and wait and keep doing what I am doing and hopefully by end of May I will have some VISUAL difference in my length.

Well, I definitely know what is NOT the easiest...I have been in a perpetual SL state for YEARS!!!:nono: And while I cannot speak with any certainty because I have yet to attain it, my gut tells me that once I break through to APL...growing from APL to BSL would be the easiest because (for me), I will have a tried and true reggie and I will just continue doing what I did to get to APL...Perhaps I'm wrong, but I so hope that I'm right!:perplexed

At what length do you think your hair grows the fastest?

From 2 inches to sl in a little over a year was the fastest that my hair grew. This was because I put the scissors down and stop cutting off my progress.
:lachen::lachen:

Have you noticed at any length you needed to take extra EXTRA care of your hair for it to grow??

Once I got to sl I started having all kinds of problems, setbacks, single strand knots, protein overload, and lots of trims. My problem was I started trying new things and my hair got really really angry at me and broke off and thinned out. So I got on my old regime and have been bunning and updoing my hair. My hair has grown and is happy again.

So tell me what do you think???

I just learned to stop jumping on bandwagons and keep using the products that work for me even if they are not popular on LHCF(hair grease). This has help me so much and hopefully this year I will be almost bsl by 12/31/10.

You will definetly get there and beyond. Just stay true to your regi and im sure you will have nothing but progress!!!

I have never been able to rollerset either. Would love to but everytime i try it is just comes out horrible!!!:wallbash:

What did you change in your regi? And do you see a big difference. Also how long were you doing your previous regi. One of my main problems is I dont wait long enough for a regi to start working, if i dont see immediate results im switching something up:nono:... Im sooo inpatient!!!

We are in the same boat, Been SL for years:wallbash:... But then again i wasnt really taking the best care of my hair. Hopefully with an actuall regimen and vitamins, (never took a vitamin before LHCF) my hair will grow.

So I have a question aimed at all types of hair. At what length do you believe hair care becomes simpler? IMO I think after i hit APL my hair care journey will become a lot easier, since i will have more hair to do more protective styles and it will be less stress on the roots and edges of my hair. Also I have noticed that when I had shorter hair I had much more breakage then with the longer hair, mainly because when i tried to do certain protective styles i had to pull tighter to get it to look presentable.
At what length do you think your hair grows the fastest?

I bc'd between top of shoulder to full shoulder length and although it was fun to do quick puffs and wngs, I could tell there'd be a problem with my ends and went into a lot of protective styles and consistent conditioning.

With loose hair (even when straightened) every single time I moved my head the ends of that hair would rub up against whatever I was wearing. If you think about how much you turn your head in a day that's a whole lot of wear n tear going on.

I'm with you, once APL was reached, growth and retention have been really consistent and easy to see. It could probably be interpreted as "fast" growth and many of the hassles/stresses of sl hair were eliminated.

Wow your hair looks so thick... love it!! What protective styles did you do when you were SL??

I think (so far) the easiest length to get to was SL because going from SL to APL is taking SOO long! :wallbash: Maybe it's because I'm just super excited and impatient and I check my progress daily :look: I've been on my supplement game to the tee.. my water game... my exercising game ...my diet game and my PS game... I've never had to be on so much "game" for me to gain a milestone length :ohwell:

I hope after APL it's smooth sailing (as my hair gets longer it's easier to PS)

Aww thank-you! :rosebud:

I did lots of twists - lots and lots. Also did a few rollersets, braided styles like two french/cornrows, twist/braid outs and puffs too but used headbands, ponytail elastics, etc. to try to keep it from touching shoulders so much. Extra conditioner/oils on the ends. I didn't blow dry or flatiron alot.

I didn't stop enjoying my hair just enjoyed it with caution and kept my goal in mind.

Keep your eyes on the prize and ignore anyone who might try to discourage you from what you want to accomplish. You'll do great girl!

Bolded area too funny :lachen:.... I feel the same way, i used to hate drinking water with a passion but then as soon as someone said it will make your hair grow, girl dont you know im up to 3 bottles a day, from maybe one a week. the things we will do for long hair.

thanks for the ideas on protective styles, unfortunately I cant do none of those except maybe the twist outs.... Me and braiding are not friends :ohwell:

For me the easiest/fastest length to grow to is full SL.

Wet bunning is what helped me to grow this length easily.

Same here. Wet bunning has gotten me thisclose to APL

What irks me is the fact that I *really* want to achieve my length goals via other hairstyles, right now I'm trying fingercoils and it's a very good and cute PS on me *if* I can keep my hands OUT of my hair. :wallbash: Atleast I know with wet bunning HIH disease is not an issue, and knowing me I'll probably go back to it. :ohwell:

The easiest for me has been from SL to APL. I got there in no time...Ive been stuck a little past BSB for months!!!! I've gone back to the regimen that had gotten me to APL fast which was keeping my hair wet 24/7. I wear a wig everyday, so my hair is in cornrows underneath. So I'll keep my hair protected for a few months and see where that gets me.

HIH disease, I definetlyhave that.!! Do you wet bun your hair when its real wet like straight out the shower or do you let it dry a little, I find that straight out the shower causes me alot of breakage, or maybe im just doing it wrong:ohwell:

I think hair growing becomes easier at APL and beyond (at least for me), because like you said--protective styling gets easier and actually LOOKS better which will encourage you to protective style more. I think my hair grew fastest when shorter, like above SL. I think hair growth does start to slow down when you get into longer lenths like BSL+, so I think at that length, ppl may need to get more into the protective styling, less direct heat to retain as much growth as possible to reach MBL and beyond. Me myself am only going for BSL, and just plan to trim regularly to maintain that length.
