Ok, I go to the gym at 5AM everymorning for i hour and 15 min. I go to work after for 8AM. So I can't do much for my hair in the morning. I am trying to find a simple hair care regimen for exercisers.
Right now I wash once a week on sat or sun. During the week I wear my hair in a bun because that is the only way I can since my hair is still damp from exercising. I don't like the idea of having damp hair as my hair is usaully still damp when i get home in the evenings (after 6PM).
Can someone please help me with a simple hair care regimen??????
I am also a shedder, which I have not been able to get under control.

Well I have to be to work after 6 so I wake up at 3:40 amd work out for an hour and 15 minutes as well (1 hour cardio, 15 mins weights). I recently discovered yesterday what works for me If I dont have time to style. I moisturize THE HECK out my hair the night before and set with 8 pincurls (2 on each side) and work out. No scarf,. no nothing. I set the curls with roller pins (large, long bobby pins. When I work out, I wait til after I shower and take the curls out and it turns out pretty nice. I wanted a smooth look this morning so I just had my hair in a high pony. Sunsilk straigten up really helped tame my hair, esp because I work out so much.

Have you tried to conditioner wash your hair post workout. At the gym since your wearing a damp bun, go ahead and get some moisture in your hair. It may even help your hair dry faster. Plus sweat is so drying for the hair its best to rinse that right out especially since your a 'shedder'. Buy Jilbre shower comb from sally's, throw on some silcon mix, or any other cheapie conditoner, shower, then rinse that conditioner out. and gently style your bun, or tuck your hair in and slip on a half wig, fake ponytail and go:spinning::spinning:

I do something similar, it works very well if you take it out once its dry

I'm in the military so I have to deal with this everyday...The first thing I would say is make sure you Co-wash after you work out becasue the salt from the sweat is extremely drying for our hair...I am lazy and I just started doing this recently becasuse I need moisture in my hair...Secondly I would say to add a moisturizer in your hair while its wet...I don't like how the fake buns look so I normally wrap a piece of wet and wavy hair around my loose ponytail and place a hair pin in it to keep it around my ponytail...you can look in my fotki for a picture of this style...Its also a very good protective style...I also find that washing my hair and wrapping it after I work out help too...I put on a silk scarf and then I put on wig and go...by the time I leave work my hair is dry and full of body.

I will try your advise on moisturizing in the night. I like it when i put a shower cao on at night and tie with a satin scarf but i wake up to damp hair.

Oh I also wanted to add. What I wrote above is for when I wear my hair straight but when I wash and go in the summer I cowash every other day and shapoo once a week. I actually used to this before LHCF. HTH

Okay, both of you ladies are an inspiration to me!! I've been to lazy to get up and work out, right in my apt, at 5am.

Can one of yall ring my phone and tell me to get up and get moving? (smile)

I feel you. I just put vanity on the back seat for the last month or so.
Okay, about to get on the treadmill and work out. My thighs need a little management.
