I 'm really confused as to what dusting is and how you do it. Now i know that you ladies will be able to help me out here so what your verdict?

Kelendra, dusting is when you hunt for split ends and trim them, as opposed to trimming every strand even if it's not split. In other words: "if the hair is not split, why trim it"?

The pro is that you're not cutting excess hair, and if you have a fear of scissor-happy-stylists, this method will be sufficient.

The con is that you may not get all the splits that are in the back of your head and the hair may not be perfectly straight.

Here's my 2 cents: Kelendra wash your hair then comb all your hair back or forward. Make sure it's dry and no preps (just yet). Run the scissors straight across trimming 1/4 of an inch. You won't get every split end. But you will get a great deal of them and you will have even hair too. Do this as necessaary as you feel. Oh, and moisturize afterwards to seal the ends. I did this method for a long time before and my hair was long and healthy ends.
