I feel IMO you're requesting them to let you add them as a friend. When I get a red notification saying I have a "New Friend Requests", it gives you options of whether you wish to Accept, Deny or Decide Later. HTH!

OK, right. I just found this out when i saw her name added to on my friends list. Thanks ladies.
