Wanted to know if anyone can explain something weird that happens to my hair. If I use a deep conditioner with a high concentration of oil in it my hair ends up feeling dry immediately after rinsing. This happens wether it's a store bought dc or a diy. Yet I can do a hot oil treatment and have soft moisturized and conditioned feeling hair. Shouldn't a lot of oil just feel greasy afterwards?

Here's a carrier oil comparison chart, shows the traits of various oils: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1020026/carrieroilcomparisonchart.pdf

I'm leaving this because some oils are more hair friendly than others. You might also want to look at the other ingredients in your conditioners. May not be the oil alone that is drying, but other ingredient(s) on their own or combined with the oil.
