I been wetting and conditioning my hair daily and I still have flakes....n e suggestions for scalp care...?

thnx in advance

Also, avoid applying conditioner to the bottom inch of your hair. It may be conditioner residue that is causing the flakes. Also take flaxseed or a fish oil as a supplement. An ACV rinse with 20 drops of rosemary essential oil might help. Make sure to massage your scalp really well when doing the rinse. I find it easiest to dunk my head in the solution in a basin so I can massage with my scalp submerged to ensure I get my scalp really clean. Pouring the solution over your head doesn't give you time to massage and loosen any residue before the solution goes down the drain. Also, drink water: a dry scalp like dry skin may be an indication of dehydration.

Maybe drink more water and just wet your scalp and hair between wash days (don't apply conditioner on your scalp).

thnx..I drink tons of water.....thats pretty much all i drink and tea, juice sometimes....i have tried the acv and rosewater, but not consistently and prob didnt really massage into my head to well......so I will try that for a few days before i wash and see if that helps...

thanx appreciate the tip....n e one else feel free

ITA with the conditioner residue. Vitamin E oil relieve flakes.

Not rosewater. Rosemary essential oil. Don't try it before you wash. It should be the last thing you do to your head, the ACV rinse. The idea is to remove all residue and leave your scalp with the healing properties of rosemary essential oils. Using this first defeats the purpose coz you end up leaving conditioner residue in your scalp, which is what we're trying to stop.

I deep conditioned may hair the other day and put a good amount of tea tree oil all over my scalp, I left it on for over a hour with no heat just a plastic cap, when I rinsed it out with luke warm water my scalp felt sooo good and sort of tingled in a good way, it felt like menthol. I recommend this

ok, makes sense.....so then do i not add oil afterwards, or just let it dry out naturally....the crown area of my hair is so dry and im tryin to soften it up as well

I don't add oil afterwards; in fact, I never apply anything to my scalp. In fact, not putting anything on my scalp seems to have reminded it how to produce its own sebum again, so that my scalp is never dry but is always clean. Dunking my head in the ACV solution and massaging to my heart's content may also help with the proper functioning of my scalp so that besides improved circulation, the pores also do the needful ie keep my scalp moisturized. This is how I'm able to go w/o applying anything whatsoever to my hair or scalp, when my hair is braided or twisted. Yep, I'm a bit twisted. :spinning:
