My sister wants to know if there are any products that can help her dry scalp? It can be either shampoo, conditioner, or oil. If you ladies could help she would appreciate it a whole lot.
-Tea tree oil mixed with shampoo and used on the scalp only.
-Is she drinking enough water?
-EPO.
-I read a post where someone had used rosemary oil and that worked well.
Take care-

My scalp used to be so dry that my stylist flat out asked me, "Are you drinking enough water?" After I upped my water intake, my scalp looks just fine.
Is the rest of your skin dry? If so, you may need to treat the dryness from the inside out. Are you taking any Evening Primrose Oil or MSM or Flaxseed Oil? Eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking a lot of water, eating oily fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel, and a variety of nuts can help heal dry skin. I don't know if you use olive oil for cooking but you can also take it as a supplement. I would say sprinkle some in your salad or food coz it tastes
on its own. Or you can take cod liver oil. Do you like garlic? It's supposed to be great for skin. My guess is, if you can eat foods good for skin, your scalp may benefit too. My favorite garlic supplement (should you decide to take it) is Garlinase 4000 - very potent without the smell, and only one needed per day. Or you could just cook with it more.
If it's just your scalp that is dry and the rest of your skin is OK, you may be using a shampoo made for oily skin. People with dandruff usually have oily skin and so dandruff shampoos can be rather drying. Perhaps Emu Shampoo might help. I've read it's good for dry scalp and hair, and emu oil is supposed to be great for stimulating hair follicles.
I always seem to experience dry scalp every winter, no matter how much water I drink. My skin isn't dry, just my scalp. A stylist recommended this product to me and it stopped my dry scalp in its tracks. It's called Stopitt Medicated Anti-dandruff Hair and Scalp Treatment. After a wash and set, she would "grease" my scalp with the product and massage it in and then wrap my hair. I tell you, I was good for the week. It also helped my sensitive scalp when relaxing. In the winter (because of the dry scalp I guess) as soon as relaxer touched my hair, I would begin to burn. When I used this product, that stopped as well. HTH!!
