Re: dry hair, what\'s up with that

Hi akira

,

I used to have this problem too. No matter what I did or used my hair remained dry...

The way that I solved it was to use a very good leave-in condition while my hair is wet. That was the key for me

. If I do this, my hair remains soft and moisturized until my next wash. I also use oils and other oil moisturizers for daily upkeep but only sparingly.

The leave-ins that I use are: Elucence conditioner or KeraCare leave-in conditioner (heavy). HTH.

Yes, Chichi is right, you do need a good leave-in conditioner for you are missing that in your regimen. Make sure you follow that up with your oils when the hair is wet. In the evenings you might need to add back in more moisture with something that the ladies have suggested (something wet sprayed, be it distilled water, diluted leave-in conditioner etc. followed by oil to seal it). If you continue to have problems I would recommend, since you do a "no poo" in between your weekly shampoos, is to do a preshampoo treatment with a oil or even a conditioner. I would also continue to clarify once every month or 6wks. Build up can do some bad things to your hair and clarifing will take care of that. The last thing I would do if all else fails is to change some products. I would start looking at the ingredient of your products and stay away from anything that had "cones", "mineral oil", etc. that are known to be culprits for those who have a greater tendency towards extremely dry hair. Also, I would do a search of the forum for products "Favs" in addition to the ones listed here if these don't work for you. What works for one might not work for another. It can become a period of trial and error with products until you find what works for your hair. I HTH! PM if you need me in the future. I'll be researching this forum for hidden gems!

I agree also....I firmly believe the key to curing dry hair is to apply a leave-in to WET hair...makes all the difference in the world...no matter which one I use.
