Last week I was excited that I had a lot of new growth, this week I'm freaked out 'cause it's SO DRY! What should I use that'll make it soft again without it breaking while I'm detangling? A leave-in? Moisture Lotion? Oil? HELP!!!

I use a leave-in (NTM silk touch) and a serum (NTM of Fantasia IC hair polisher). I also do CW to help keep my new growth moisturized.

I would love to recommend World of curls, S-curl and water mixed with Vo5 conditioner in a spray bottle. I apply the World of curls to my new growth and also to my ends but I spray my new growth only with the water and Vo5 mixture. My new growth is now soft like butter and very moisturized from roots to ends.

I also forgot to recommend a leave-in conditioner and oils. I use African Pride leave-in conditioner or Ashas Natural silk rose elixir leave-in conditioner. I also use WGO and other carrier oils such as jojoba oil, castor oil, avocado oil, Vitamin E oil and coconut oil.

Good luck!!:)

Another thing to consider is the amount of water you are drinking. Your probably drinking enough, just a consideration because since I've increased my intake, my new growth hasn't been that dry.

I have a mixture of Suave Humectant, Motions Nourish, various oils, S-Curl No Drip, and ElastaQP Penetrating Moisturizer that makes my hair incredibly soft afterwards. Try a mixture with a leave-in, cheap conditioner, activator, and oil.

Also, when's the last time you had a protein treatment? So far, I've had 2 treatments with Aphogee Treatment for Damaged Hair and it leaves my hair very soft afterwards as well.

HTH!

You need to start drinking more water, sista! So you can eliminate this problem. When i have alot of newgrowth, S-curl is always great. U should also apply oil....i'd recommend WGHO. also that V-05 detangle & shine spray is very very good. and surge moisture-aide is another suggestion of the above dont' work..

Can I buy S-Curl at Sally's? Or where can I buy this?
yes you can buy S-curl at sallys and at any BSS. Also drug stores like wal-greens, rite-aid, CVS.... usually they will have it.

Same here!

I've found mixing Coconut Oil with just about any of my leave-ins works wonders. But just the other day I tried Aubrey's Sea Buckthorn leave-in, and it left my crackly new growth downright SILKY.

Oh, also putting almond oil in my hair before I deep condition it has added some umph to the new growth as well.

I'm 8 weeks post and with this treatment I can't even see my new growth. Warm any moisturizing conditioner, some aloe vera gel, some honey and some oil in a bowl in the microwave. Apply to your hair and sit under the dryer or a heat cap for about an hour. Rinse. This makes my hair very moist. Then put WGO on your new growth while wet. HTH.

It's been so long since I've had a lot of new growth that I forgot how to care for my hair while it's natural!
I feel like a little girl again with the softening and detangling and combing out!

I use Sta So Fro and BBD Stretch creme and this allow me to stretch my relaxer 3 month with little or no breakage.

Dang!! You guys sound like professionals!! lol

CO washes always do it for me. Shea butter helps too. I tried S-Curl, and I didn't like it that much. Maybe I will pull it out from the back of the closet and try it again.

John Frieda Re-Hydrating Balm works wonders for smoothing out my new growth and making it super soft. Also, WGO is excellent (and easier to find), for softening new growth.
