Dr. Miracle's Temple & Nape Balm

I think I'm experiencing a major set-back from this stuff. I bought it to thicken up edges and nape and decided to also use some in the crown area to thicken up due to major breakage. Well, I've been noticing a lot of hair, LONG and broken coming out more than usual. I'm 4 weeks post and my hair should be a lot thicker (from NG) than it is. It's very, very thin and continues to come out and break.

I have worked hard for the past six months to get my hair in a healthier condition. I even stopped seeing breakage. I stopped combing and everything. Now, all of my hard work has gone out the window because my hair completely different than it was four weeks ago.
The only thing I added differently to my dominican product & rollerset regimen was the Dr. Miracle's and the Nacidit Avocado Conditioner.

I'm so down about this, I just want to "weave it up" so I don't have to deal with it, look at it or feel how thin it is now. What should I do??? Has anyone else experienced any problems with Dr. Miracle's line?

All suggestions are welcomed. TIA!

I would say stop using it ASAP and toss it out. I don't think there has been a single positive review of any Dr. Miracle's products. Word to the wise girl.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this, especially when you've worked so hard to gain the progress you have. It can be very discouraging. Like the others that have responded, I too have not heard anything good about their products either. I would discontinue using it as well.

In regards to the weave, I wouldn't do anything that would add any stress or tension to the affected area. Have you tried MN and/or Boundless Tresses?

I know that Organic Root Stimulator has a temple balm that does work. It's a little expensive but it does work.

Be hopeful, it'll grow back.

Ugh, I'm glad I came here to ask you ladies. I should've checked here first for reviews. I learned the hard way so it's my own fault for the set back. I'm tossing it out as soon as I get home today. Thanks again.

Oh, and I won't give up and get a weave, I'll just work on getting my hair back in tip top shape.

<<<hugs>>> I am sooo sorry that this has happened to you! Dr. Miracles is the devil! Like TonicaG said, ORS temple balm is good stuff. I've use when I get micros and put it all around my edges once a day. No thinning no breakage! It runs about 10-11 dollars here in Philly but it a little goes a long way!

I tried it because I usually like products that tingle. After using it for three weeks I stoped, because it was making my temple hair dry and brittle.

I noticed too that my scalp has been way more sore than normal. Prior to finding LHCF and Cathy Howse, my scalp stayed sore and itchy. I stopped having this problem back in January. So the Dr. Miracle stuff must be the culprit.

I've never tried MTG or BT. I keep hearing how badly it smells so I've decided against using them.

I just wish I knew what to do now with the areas that have been affected. Do I put some braids in? Do I wear a high phony phony towards the top to distract how thin it is?

I was beginning to fall in love with my hair. Now I feel like I'm back to square one. :( It probably isn't noticeable to others but I definitely feel when I run my fingers through my hair and see a difference and that saddens me.

ETA: I was SO excited about making SL in August. Now I don't even know how that's going to look with this set-back. I have to focus on the damaged areas more now than gaining length.

Don't lose your excitement. You can still achieve your goals. It's not necessary to use growth aids, because your hair will grow without them. Maybe you can try massages, and adding EO to your conditioners and moisturizers. For me EO's are expensive, but even one or two can be very beneficial. I'm currently adding pepperment, and rosemary eo's. I'd like to use a couple more (sage, thyme, basil, lavendar, and cedarwood), but I really can't afford them all at one time. Instead I alternate among them all, but always use the peppermint, and one other.
