Don't Touch

Yesterday, I did a braid out with my hair and it looked really nice. It looked as if my hair was a wash and go style. Well, apparently a co-worker thought my hair looked really nice too. She is somewhat ghetto and loud. Anyways, she was like "oh! your hair is so cute" then took it upon herself to start playing in my hair with her fake long nails. She was pulling on it and I got so irritated that I turned around and said to her, "look stop pulling on my hair." She was shocked that I even said anything. Then she just said, " oh ok, but how did you get it like that." I explained to her that I plait and rolled the ends. It did not bother me explaining that to her, but dang it man don't touch my hair. I feel happy I said something to her, which means no one else from work will touch my hair.

I feel you man. I transferred to a new school this semester, and I had my hair in twist the whole time until mid-last month. I guess people thought I was bald. People kept touching my hair, and saying it was so soft. I just tell them to get there dirty ass hands out my hair.

I feel you Hottopic! Some people have no boundaries and think it's ok to put their hands on our bodies and hair. It sounds like you did everything right though! Maybe she'll think twice before putting her hands in someone else's hair!

People want to put their nasty hands in your hair! NO WAY! I dont want people touching my food, face or hair with their nasty hands.
Im so bad, i asked my hair dresser to wash her hands before curling my hair...she just had eaten a snickers (licking her fingers)and then tries to touch my hair!

Not only is that nasty, it's unprofessional and disrespectful too!

U guys are so right to be wary. I know some people who don't wash their hands after they go to the bathroom. U don't know how many of them are out there......ewwwwwwwwwww!

I understand you. When I am at work it seems that everyone wants to touch and grab  I do not get annoyed with people with good vibes (nice people who don't comment on how bad my hair is everyday). I get mad when the people who always have rude comments to say about my hair have the nerve to want to touch it! If you don't like my hair, don't touch it.

Rude female co-worker: *touches in hair and all in my scalp* I really like your hair Ankh. Who did it?
Ankers: Yes thank you. I do my own hair.
RFCW: So what did you do? Flatiron it?
Ankrs: *nods* I don't go to stylists anymore. I trid to perm it myself but it doesn't come out straight.
RFCW: Well when my beautician does my hair it comes out bone straight everytime, what you need is a good beautician.
Ankers: *thinking, "i don't want to have brittle, flat, thin hair like hers"*

Yeah, those nails could have pulled or torn your hair! I'm glad you said something to her! You go girl! ;)

I've had this happen to me, especially when my hair was long. They're usually feeling for tracks when they "play" in your hair. It would annoy me that my co-worker or fellow student would do that, but at the same time I was glad to be able to "prove" that all of my hair is home grown by me and not some Asian. Now I won't let anyone do that because it is very unsanitary, and just plain rude. Good for you, standing up for yourself.

Good for you for standing up for yourself, I always end up letting people finger my hair just to prove its all mine

Ditto. That's usually what I do too. Just to make them shut the fudge up about how I never do anything with it.

Who in the world are these haters. Why would anyone say anything bad about your lovely head of hair?

I hate when people I don't know touch me period so I would have to tell them to step.
