I hated it. my hair feels so 'tacky' and coated yuck!!!

never again!!

who else has had a bad experience with certain semi-permanents??

Which color of Adore did you use? and did you shampoo first? I've used adore in the past in Crimson, Hot Pink and now I use it in Clear for shine and I've never had that problem. The only semi-permanent I ever had a problem w/was texture and Tones, it does something to the texture alright, DRY IT OUT!, I hated it and will never recommend it to noone, I put Dark N Lovely in my cousins hair last night and it left her hair soft and moisturized. Maybe this was a trial and era for you now you know what doesn't work for you. :ohwell:

i shampooed and conditioned first,(keracare - hydrating shampoo and conditioner) as i was told that as it seals the cuticles so well, thats its good to get all the moisture i can on my hair b4 adding the Adore. i rinsed out the colour after 25mins until the water ran clear, and theni added a leave in conditoner. i used burgundy brown, the "new" formula in the purple bottle. the ingredients look so good aswell, i really expected the works. one thing though, my hair feels very strong, its not breaking any more or less then usual at 10 weeks post either, just not too keen on the tackyness.now that i've washed my hair again, it feels better airdyed. Ive got the Crimson in my hair tub, its the white bottle formula. did it show up on your hair? maybe the new formula contains too many cones.

I never had a problem with Adore... I forget which color I use... it is in white bottle...Like a copperish color, and I have to second the strength comment...

hmmmm maybe i'm just not used to adding colour to my hair.... i got a lil feelin that the original formula (white bottle) may be better for me.

I have used both Adore in the white bottle and the Adore Plus in the purple bottle. I liked both, but I know what you mean when you say your hair feels yucky. I always shampoo first, then I apply the rinse and sit under the dryer, then I deep condidtion. My hair feels funny after rinsing out the Adore, but then I deep condition afterwards and it feels great. I hope this helps. Oh and I do like the regular Adore (in the white bottle) better.

yehhhh, i should've planned it better and deep conditioned afterwards too. i see the colour more now that i;ve airdyed.

Hmm, I like Adore in the white bottle, does the clear one give much shine? But my favorite semi permanent is Stargazer which is probably easier to find where Candy C lives, it doesn't dry as much as Adore.

I'm an avid Adore user when I decide to put rinses in my hair and one thing that I can say is that conditioning your hair before a rinse doesn't help. Conditioner coats the hair, so you putting a rinse on top of that is not only going to make it less effective, but make your hair feel heavy as well. That's why the directions on the bottle say to only shampoo your hair first. What you do after the rinse is up to you. HTH. Sorry your first experience wasn't pleasant.

I used adore for years without any problems but I recently changed to a brand called react available in the UK because I wanted to go a bit 'redy-brown' and they have a colour called Seinna which is really good. I must say, your hair feels very soft after using it. Hope you have better luck next time and make sure you shampoo before, then colour, then shampoo again, then conditon. Hope you have better luck next time.

Yes the Crimson showed up on my hair, really well, better than I thought it would.

I just colored my hair with Adore 5 days ago. It made it feel dry and hard. I've had to apply moisturizer twice daily for it to feel decent. Thankfully, I go to my stylist tomorrow.

thanks for ur suggestions ladies!!!

i think next time i will....

shampoo wid a mositurising 'poo
then add the adore
then rinse out with watered down shampoo
and then deep condition!

my hair feels very oily right now, like its just sittin on my strands. i haven't had to oil my hair for 2 days now. i think the shampoo definately helped and airdrying too.

maybe it wasn't such a bad thing, my hair isn't breaking at all, and my hair looks like it has crystals on the surface. no dryness at all and its very springy and light.

Adore didn't make my hair feel icky but that mess washed right out...my little greys are sticking out all in the front...hmph

the instructions didnt say to condition after washing. i dont think you should have done that

ETA: i used the crimsom and one of the purple colors and i never had any problems with them

I've got crimson which i am planning to use once i hit brastrap. i'm gonna:

PRE-POO - CLARIFY - ADD COLOUR - RINSE AND USE HYDRATING POO - DEEP CON w/ HUMECTO - LEAVE IN - MOISTURIZE - SERUM - BLOWDRY - DONE! :D
