Relax and breathe....It isn't that serious. Plenty of people find and have expressed straight hair is easier on LHCF.

The time it takes to get to a straight result would make straight hair seem like a chore. Hence, it has been several years since I heat straightened. I shudder at roller sets, shingling and twists too. All are too labor intensive. I guess this is where I add the..."for me" disclaimer.

People cross post on different forums. I would expect the reaction to be different on NC and NP. I do not understand why someone would be so offended by the OP finding it easier. She was obviously discussing her own experience, no need for a disclaimer.

***typing from my phone***People can post whatever they choose...we all have opinions & I genuinely enjoy *hearing* those of others. What I don't enjoy IMO is the air of superiority that sometimes gets thrown around. Again this is my opinion & my perception. Ok you luuurrve being natural? That's great! Go bake yourself a cake. I love being natural too. But I wouldn't look down my nose at those who don't. And I wouldn't post on on another hair board in which I know members from here also visit to basically talk ish about relaxed ladies or naturals that straighten. To me the OP statements seem to lack credibility when you go to that other site & read the posts. I think she meant exactly what she said in her OP and esp that last sentence. Again this is all IMO!

Very well said. Everyone has the right keep their hair the way they choose. There is no need for all the air of superiority that "some" naturals have. Most naturals on here are wonderful tho.

Hair is hair at the end of the day and we can all be natural if we choose to.

I ain't gonna lie. I don't have hair down my back. I'm sitting a shoulder length. But I LOVE SWINGING MY SILKY SMOOTH STRAIGHT HAIR. I love it. A lot. No one will be able to stand me if my hair gets any longer. :) Or at least they won't be able to stand BY me without getting silky black strands across the face from my swanging.

 Very True!

While I don't feel I should clarify myself, I am because it continues to help me with my career. So in advance, thank you ladies very much, you have just given a topic to do for my thesis research as a result of this angst.

1. It's not that serious. While it may be a controversy to some, it was done more to see what the difference in response was.
2. For people to believe it was a high school thing, stop being so catty. The thought process here is much different than the other site. It was really interesting to see the response. I don't post over here often and I honestly wasn't expecting to be crucified for expressing my opinion because I thought we were beyond that.
3. I have cross-posted several times over, to see the types of responses. The more info you get the more knowledgeable you are.

If you took offense to it, well that's your business. It's not that serious for me. Hair is hair as long as its beautiful and healthy, I will drool over it RELAXED OR NATURAL. I wish people would stop reading so deep into things and take things at face value. (drops the mic, exit stage right)

I feel uncomfortable if my hair is straight or more than three days. But It's not any harder to care for IMO. I just feel like my hair is more exposed to potential damage when its straight.

Even when I make my hair goals I will still only straighten every now and then.

That's how I feel when I'm not wearing protective styles. :perplexed

Hmmph...I've been natural for 17 years and relaxed for 3...although I'm transitioning..I find my relaxed hair to be much easier than my natural...I wasn't on hairboards when I was natural so maybe it'll be diff this time around!

I'm glad we were able to at least inspire you with our responses in this thread. Care to share with us what your thesis topic will be?

I don't get the big deal why people have their panties in a wad. This is the OP's thread and she has the right to express her feelings. People shouldn't take it personal that she prefers natural unstraightened hair. This thread is dedicated to her experience and as such should not be taken as a personal attack against anyone that differs in their opinion. Diversity is what makes the world interesting. OP if you don't like straightened hair, don't straighten it. For those who do like it, keep straightening it :-).

Wow I had no idea that people can be so sensitive over the relaxed/natural thing. As a person that has been on both sides (natural for most of my life tho), I'm going to have to agree that natural hair is easier for me as well. But then again, I didn't have LHCF back then so maybe it would have been easier with the virtually unlimited amounts of info on here. I guess OP might have gotten the tone on the site that relaxed hair is easier. *shrugs* I'm just still in shock at how easily people can get offended.
I know right, I had to go back and analyze the post to see what she said that had everybody all offended. It just sounded like a personal opinion to me *kanyeshrug*.

*makes mental note to post all personal opinions in my blog where it's kinda safer*:lachen:

Well I haven't started writing my proposal, but I just want to find out if people do things personally on the internet, and does it effect them when the turn the computer off.

Thesis or not OP I hope you read deep into your own motives and consider offering a resolution/solution to the issue you have identified :ohwell: As the world turns we continue to divide ourselves. Nobody else has to do it for us.

What a silly argument, why is it such a big deal that she posted her same post in two threads?? Is there some supposed loyalty to only post about hair on one site at a time? I don't blame her for feeling offended. She posted her opionon about her experience with her hair and she was bashed for it. Even though her last statement didn't say natural hair was easier for her, it seemed easy to understand that it was implied since her entire post was about her. And even if she did feel that way, she's entitled to her opinon. One that I wouldn't agree with but so be it.

This type of stuff is what turns me off to this site - the cattiness.

Yeah, that's no big deal to me.....i've done that plenty of times when I was frequenting multiple hair boards. Haven't a lot of people done that?

:yay: Am I wrong for being happy I finally get to see a thread before it may be locked? :yay:

Just wondering how can you actually analyze your data? You don't know what people do when they're off their computer in real life because you don't know these people in real life so how can you determine if what is done on the internet truly effects them?

Wild Curls Raquelle don't ever pull a stunt like this again on LHCF. You say you don't like immaturity but here you go instigating, trolling, and deceiving. :ohwell:
