I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD GET SOME FEED BACK ON IF USING A ROUND BRUSH FOR BLOW DRYING ON A WEEKLY BASIS ON NATURAL HAIR WAS GOOD AS FAR AS HEALTH WAS CONCERNED. MY GUESS IS NOT FOR EVERYONES HAIR. MABEY IF YOUR HAIR IS IN TIP TOP CONDITION IT CAN HANDLE ALL THE HEAT PLUS THE BRUSHING, BUT FOR ALL THE NEWBIES OUT THERE WHO IS TRYING TO GET THERE HAIR BACK TO BEING HEALTHY AGAIN FROM BEING DAMAGED OR FROM IMPROPER CARE I THINK IT IS TOO MUCH STRESS ON YOUR HAIR.... WHAT DO YOU THINK????

I think this is only for people whos hair is in a healthy state. When I first started my hair journey, I won't have dared to use a blow dryer and round brush. My hair was sooo thin and overprocessed (from relaxing every 4-6 weeks). I use this method now to get a very sleek look. But even if your hair is healthy, I think it should be used in moderation. I only do the dominican style blow drying every 2 weeks.

The Doms blowdryer is hotter than hell sometimes! I really get scared, that's why I've only been there like twice even though I located the one in my area almost six months ago. I use the technique at home maybe once a month, but on a much lower heat setting, and with ample heat protectant. I only do this now because my hair has got to a very healthy and strong state. It's a lot of heat for anyone's hair to endure on a regular basis.

No, I don't think it's good for some people's hair. When I first got my first dominican blowout, my hair was somewhat healthy because I had just cut it all off and started over but after going to get a blowout every week for about 3 years when I was finished, my hair was a hot mess...getting a touch-up every 6/8 weeks didn't help either.

I personally don't think it's good for the hair. I have never been to Dom. but when I tried to handheld blow dry my own hair with the comb attachment the heat was so intense that it destroys my hair strands and ends. I now only use the dome dryer (indirect heat). My hair responds better with this type of dryer. Some ladies hair can take all that heat but my hair can't take it all:( My hair strands are fine to medium thickness and only feels healthier when I use my gold n' hot dome dryer.

I don't think it's a good idea, even if your hair is in a healthy state. Those dryers are EXTREMELY HOT! When I first started going to get a blow-out, my hair was very thick and healthy. But over a period of time, going every week, my hair in the middle top portion looked like someone wacked it off with a pair of scissors. I ended that really quick. So even if you do have healthy hair already, eventually that heat and pulling of the brush will catch up to you. I don't think it's worth it.

I would have to agree with the other ladies. I get blowouts maybe twice a year, and I can tell my hair gets stressed just from those infrequest experiences. I can't imagine going often. But, some people's hair handles heat better than others.

This is just my opinion, but I think only very healthy, strong, coarse hair can withstand that type of heat on a regular basis and remain healthy. I could be completely wrong, but from what I've seen, women with stronger hair can take that heat a lot better than someone with strands that are fine.

Now, if you fall into any of these categories: unhealthy, overprocessed, fine, breaking, thin hair, etc....than doing this style of blowdrying (the entire strand, regularly) is really going to harm your hair.

I used to get a blowout weekly and I didn't retain length as fast, and for the most part my hair was on the thin side. Just getting the roots blown has improved the thickness, and reducing the frequency that I go makes my hair even thicker.
