Does your MSM have a salty taste to it?

MSM is very bitter. But if you mix the crystal or powder in orange juice, it is easier to take. It makes the juice taste like grapefruit juice or fresh orange juice made from very bitter oranges. That is how I usually take crystal/powder MSM when I have some.

Another bonus in taking it in orange juice, in addition to improving on taste, is vitamin C helps its assimilation into your body. So you get to kill two birds with one stone.

ETA: My favorite MSM is Distilpure. But I'm fine buying any powdered MSM that says OptiMSM on the bottle which IIRC had something to do with the quality of the MSM you're getting.

Mine is bitter, not salty at all; I don't taste it because I dissolve the powder in a gallon of water at a time. I use the Source Naturals brand.
