IMHO I don't care for the smell so I use it sparingly...when I did use it more frequently it did stop my breakage:ohwell: I think MTG smells better.....

bumping.

Those who don't find the smell offensive, please let me know, where do you buy your WGO? Maybe I am buying the stinky kind. :)

I think it smells the same, but different people have different reactions to the aroma. It makes my DH gag, but smells ok to me. The smell also dissipates quickly if you use it on wet hair. I only use it on my wet hair now for his sake.

There was a thread a while back about mold growing on some one's WGO. I put mine in a clear bottle after I read that so I could always see what was going on with it. Open your bottle and pour it out. It should be the color of olive oil, if it isn't it may be bad.

I've trashed it. I remember the color was rather dark... Maybe it was too old and had mold...

I'm 5 months post, almost 6, and I do find that WGHO "tames" my wild new growth, which is what I wanted, but it has not increased my rate of growth.

I don't use it on my scalp, so I don't expect it to increase my growth. I use it for sealing or for helping to detangle stubborn new growth.

For those ladies complaining about the smell: try adding 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil to a full bottle. Gets rid of the WGHO smell almost entirely.

Yes...but not for growth.

That being said, i guess my hair has always grown but i have never retained the growth. WGHO is excellent for retaining growth.
I know that when i use it, i notice little or no breakage and it makes my hair soft but strong.
Things like MTG make my hair grow quicker but actually do NOTHINg for helping me retain my hair:ohwell:

LOve WGHO

I mixed 2 teaspoons of sulphur powder with half a bottle of WGO and topped up the rest with Jojoba oil. I am applying it to my scalp every night and then run my hands over my hair.

I've only been doing this for 2 weeks so can't tell you if it is growing my hair. My natural hair is, however, very soft from using this mixture.

Hmm
This sounds nice.
When do you plan to check for growth?
I'll def be keeping a sharp eye out for your progress.:)

When I first went natural it was a month before I deployed to Iraq. I bought two bottles with me and the company actually shipped them to me whenever I needed more. I only used tis oil and leave in conditioner. My hair was always soft and it grew so much. I still love it.

Henrietta,

The smell is reduced with this mix, it feels luxurious and you only require a small amount on the scalp.

My hair has been in twists for the whole period of time. I will be taking them down on Monday and i will measure the growth. I don't expect to see a difference in just two weeks but my twists seem to be very loose and fluffy at the base like i've had them in for four weeks. I tie them down every night and don't fiddle about too much with my hair - so hey, i might have had a boost with this mixture.

I'll keep you posted.
