Hmmm...thats an interesting question...I thought they used "K" as a cute way to mean "Cake"...I dunno...

BTW, I bought me a K cutter from a BSS and it combed through my new growth greatly (before I got a relaxer). It didnt work too well when my hair was wet though.

PB beat me to the punch....

PB - I am not happy to hear it did not work well while your hair was wet. that's the time I will probably need it most....

dont worry it will work well with wet hair, im surprised that poohbear said it didnt. thats the only way i use it. but not just while my hair is wet, but also very moisturized and oiled or with conditioner in it....it helps tremendously with detangling

Question: What's so great about a K Cutter comb??? What does it do for your hair that others combs don't?

Just wondering if I need to make the investment...

I love my K Cutter and I don't even have a really good one. I want the salon quality comb... as soon as I find it that is. It detangles so well and if it doesn't mean kink it should b/c it's cuts through them w/precision!!

I use mine to detangle under running water too. Actually, I start on the ends of my hair w/o the water running over them. As I near the roots or as I get to ear level, I let the conditioner rinse out as I'm working the comb through to the roots under water. I'm amazed at how quickly I can get through my hair. I don't get any snapping or pulling since using the comb, the spacing btwn the teeth is perfect and it works through tangles w/such ease. Love, Love, Love it!!!!

But is it better than a regular plastic shower comb???

It seems like those metal teeth would be kinda harsh...

I think so. The teeth aren't harsh at all. It almost works like a pic and just gently cuts through the hair. My hair is very dense and thick. I used to detangle for 40 mins w/a regular comb. I'm down to 3 mins, tops! Now other things have contributed, but this comb is near the top of the list.
