I just saw some pics of myself from a year ago, and I realized that I have had NO growth in this past year. I was APL in May of last year, and I am still APL.

This was my first year of med school (I've never been so stressed in my life!). I haven't had much time or $$, so I've been stretching relaxers and bunning for the majority of the year. I know I haven't been manipulating my hair that much because I really didn't have time (plus I got a lot of compliments on my buns and twist outs).

I'm just wondering about this. I've gotten three touch ups in the past year, which equals three trims and I watched EVERY SINGLE ONE so I know that it wasn't just a SHS.

My ends even look thinner (I really don't know why). I'm thinking about cutting to right above SL and starting over for 2nd year. I'm kind of disappointed because I wanted to be MBL by the time I was an MD. :ohwell:

I know that stress can cause hair loss, so it makes sense that stress could inhibit hair growth too. I wouldn't cut unless there was damage....maybe a tiny trim since you said the ends look thinner. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about the stress of medical school, but it will be soo worth it when your done :yep:
Try taking a multivitamin if you aren't already and doing scalp massages. Your hair looks great in your siggy. Try not to stress to much about this, it'll get better and I bet you'll make your goal of MBL by graduation :bighug:

ETA: Also, I wouldn't get the trim after every relaxer. He/she may be taking off more than you realize :nono:

Definitely! I lost hair from stress. I wouldn't say that your hair hasn't grown at all, but it is possible that it grew a lot slower because of it.
