Does it bother you when you get more VIEWS than REPLIES in your posts?

lol every time I'm on here I notice that the amount of views are 10 times greater than the actual replies. WOW! we have a lot of lurkers out there but in a way it makes me happy because we're helping people. are the amount of views more important than the amount replies?

Now, that's the positive way of looking at it. I like the THANKS button BECAUSE IT SAVES ME A LOT OF TYPING but still allows me to thank the poster.

First of all, I agree with both of you. I also like the "thanks" button.

I also find that sometimes there a lot more "views" or what I call "others" which is when someone posted something but did not answer the question.

It's kind of annoying, especially if you're wanting to know the answer as well. On the other hand, it's also kind of funny.

What's funny to me is when someone says something and everyone else gets so sidetracked that the original question is all but forgotten and you're sitting there still trying to figure out the answer to the original question but now you're also intrigued by what the other person just interjected. How do we get people to stay focused?

Aaaahhh, the joys of the board.

LMAO! I KNOW!!! IT TURNS INTO A CHAT ROOM. IT'S FINE BY ME THOUGH... AS LONG AS ALL OF THE FABULOUS LADIES ARE HAVING FUN.

Not every person that reads a thread has an answer to the question, comment about the picture, or something to share about what the OP said. A title does not always tell the story and after reading a thread one may either just not feel like typing, feel that the post is just too long and time consuming to get into, see that others have already given the person similar info, or just may not feel that it is worth it to go there.

Also, there are many people that cannot post because they are not paid members. But they do have access to several of the threads. There are many reasons why a thread has more views than comments. If I commented in every thread I see here, I would be spending way more time here than I should.

Hey, thanks Honeydew.

I didn't even think about the all the unpaid lurkers. Yep, that does help to explain more views than posts. Didn't even think about that but, hey, I just roll with it. There are times I don't feel like posting either so can't really be upset with someone else for not posting.

Well, my short answer is yes. As a newbie, I sometimes feel as though I'm being snubbed in some way. I do, however, appreciate those on the forum that do bother to reply.

i don't reply because i don't post pictures. most people would ignore my response so i don't waste my time typing. sometimes i will respond to thread that does not require pictures (ingredients request or a link to another website)

I notice that people ignore me because I took away my pics. I have given a person and answer and got totally ignored. I have even had the OP bump the thread for responses without even acknowledging my comment. :look:

whatever....

There are times that I want to say something but I don't because it wouldn't be nice. Or, it would start a discussion that is unnecessary (relaxed v. natural, natural v. really natural, etc.).

But the main reason I read threads and don't reply is because I don't think people take me seriously anyway because I don't have waist length hair, or at least really great progress to show.

I also don't respond if I don't know the answer or if I think the person could have done a quick search and answered the question themselves.

Na I "try" not to let it bother me. You are right we are helping each other. I look at the genuineness from people. I feel that sometimes people don't respond because they are shy. I get ignored all the time. You know what I am going to keep on talking and posting to people "even if they ignore me". I am a child of God and he is good and if I can help somebody while I am here than that is what I am going to do.

in my optimistic mind people come in with the intention to help but maybe just dont know the answer to the question or dont have anything good to say so they leave with no comment, i know if i go into a question thread and the answer i was going to post was already posted by someone else i sometimes just leave the thread

Girl....I got tons of pics on here and i get ignored. Don't feel bad...its all good!:lachen:

lol the only way you can get mad about this is if you've replied to every single thread you've read on here. If not you're guilty of the exact same thing

Sometimes if I don't know the answer I won't answer. Other times I think it would be kinda obnoxious to post a comment on every thread I read.

But then other times I feel "tricked" into reading something that has NOTHING to do with the subject title and I don't answer. If its a thread whinning... Forget it! I get enough of that at home from my kids LOL

Yes but I know some people are just curious, it also bothers me when over 350 people look at my profile and say nothing, I feel like a delinquent.
I'm like...did I do something wrong...

It happens to EVERYBODY (except dlewis :giggle:)

People are just not interested at that time for different reasons that may/may not have something to do with the poster.

I find that a lot of people do the bold. Including myself.

But I also wanted to add the the viewed number increases as people return to the thread to check for responses.
