Does anyone still use these?

 I've never seen them before! If you get them, please let us know how they work. I'd try them

I've never seen these before. I was looking at them like, "How do you use them"? Did y'all happen to notice the link on the left-hand side to get help? Well, I clicked on it and was immediately whisked away to a live chat with Customer Service Representative "Bob". I asked him how to use them and he answered my questions in real time. It was cool.

Oh, my bad. I should have shared that info right from the start. Our conversation went something like this:

Tara: Hi, Bob. How does one use these hair spools?
Bob: You simply wrap a piece of hair around the spool, then secure it with the cap.
Tara: Hmmmm ... sounds interesting, although I'm having a hard time getting the visual. Would these hair spools possibly promote hair breakage, you know ... since you're wrapping your hair around them.
Bob: I think they would be fine to use if you do so carefully.
Tara: Are you speaking from personal experience, Bob (LOL).
Bob: Well ... I shave my head every morning before work, so not exactly (LOL).
Tara: Well your grooming habits are certainly easier than mine. Ha, ha ... thanks for sharing, Bob.
Bob: Nice chatting with you Tara.

And that was it. I still don't get how they work though.

Yeah I was laughing as I was typing. I don't know where the customer service center is actually housed, but I kept picturing some middle-aged bald chubby guy in Vermont answering my questions about this old school curler.

You are too much.

I used to have something like these back in the early 90's :look:. They were in a contraption that heated up, so they'd get warm like hot rollers. They sucked for me, but I had Caruso's also that I didn't know how to use either .

In a nutshell, you take a small section of hair and wrap it around the short stubby part. They're soft pliable rubber...Then you take the larger coned shaped part and flip it down over the hair and it secures to the head.

Thanks Cleve_gryl! I now have a better idea of how to roll them. I just saw the hot ones you mentioned on ebay.

I might order the regular ones and try them out if I see more positive reviews.

 What duh, Haven't seen these before. I think theý're just rollers designed to help you sleep better at night with them instead of the regular rollers...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Dippity Do gel at the bottom of the screen;). I think this one is old school just for that fact alone, BUT old school is not always a bad thing!

Hair Spools

I remember these from back in the day . . . shoot, I'm thinking about buying these right now . . . .

OMG........

Are these things still around? I remember a sales lady doing a pitch for them in Woolworth's 5 & 10. I was a kid shopping with my mom and we were on our way to the store's basement cafeteria to get a "tulip sundae".
On the way out she bought them. I used to like opening them up and rolling them on the floor.
Hey..I was a kid!:lachen:

I'm trying to picture how to use these. I get the wrap around part, but tucking in the end and the pushing the cone in doesn't sound good to me. It seems like the tip would end up bent instead of curled and that the hair could easily break at the end where it has to be tucked.

Remington has something exactly like this. I see them at Walmarts all the time, maybe I'll check 'em out. THey look like they would give nice waves.
