I am talking about the first edition. If so, could you please post the recipe that is in that book and the directions that she gives? Thanks in advance for doing this? The only reason that I ask this is that we have so many different versions of the recipe floating around and I would love to get the definitive recipe. Thanks again.

I found this in the book review section on Amazon. A girl posted a review of the Ms. Howse's lastest book an gave the instructions for the deep conditioner from the first book. Here is the review in it's entirety if you want to see it: Ultra Black Hair Review Just scroll to the bottom.

Here ya go:

1 32 oz. bottle of protein conditioner (I use Mane & Tail)
6 oz coconut oil (you must liquify this in the microwave)
3 oz olive oil
.5-1 oz (personal preference) peppermint oil (must be real essential oil)

I plan on making this.....hth-

Is this Cathy Howes book the best hair book in terms of black hair care apart from Shamboosie? I just wanted to know because there are so many disapppointing reviews on Amazon.

I found Cathy Howse to be much more helpful than Shampoosie. He was pushing many more products and made some recommendations that I disagreed with. I think both of them were good, though.

FYI you should not microwave Coconut Oil. Just put it somewhere room temperature, it will melt, if it doesn't its not the real dea.
