Sherry I mix some aloe vera gel with castor oil and olive oil and apply to my ends before I put my hair in a baggie. I just take a squirt of aloe vera gel with a squirt of each oil and mix it together in my hands.SherryLove said:bump,,,, bump

SherryLove said:sounds good, chica.... and i just want to double check that you do this when your hair is dry.... do you notice a difference in the feel of your hair when you add the aloe gel to your oil mix?????
chica,,, you are so right... i added a minute amount of AO's aloe vera gel to my oil mix, and it only made it more moisturizing to my ends... i have been doing it about a week now... it's a keeper....chicamorena said:Yes I add to my hair when it's dry. My hair feels more moisturized when mixing the aloe gel to the oil as opposed to using the oils by themselves.

Champagne_Wishes said:I do and I like it better this way. When I use aloe vera by itself, it makes my hair so dry and brittle. I don't know why either. And I used all forms of aloe vera and the same thing. When I use coconut oil and aloe vera, my hair retains moisture better. IMO it loosen the curl patter a bit and makes my hair easier to comb.
SherryLove said:this is interesting to know, champagne.. and from what i am reading, it seems as if aloe vera gel works better when it's mixed with oil for moisturization purposes(especially on dry hair) ....now i only oil my ends once per week, and they are still so moist when i take them down....it's incredible....
Champagne_Wishes said:At first I was flabbergasted on why the aloe vera was drying out my hair. Then on accident I added coconut oil and my hair had so much moisture I couldn't believe it. BTW what kind of oils are you using? I'm pretty satisfied with the oils I have now but I'm just curious.
