get scabs/bumps on their scalp? I have been natural for several years and I get them every once in awhile? Is there a way to prevent them?

I only get those when my hair is braided. I think when I had my braids, since I didn't moisturize my hair often enough, I would scratch it a lot. And I was too rough, so my scalp would scab.

I think the best way to prevent them is to keep your scalp moisturized. And to be gentle when scratching. If you need an itching relief shampoo, it may be wise to invest in one.

Good luck

I used to get them when I would wear a too-tight ponytail back in the day. Even though it didn't feel tight, but the bumps would present themselves to prove that it really is too tight. So I would take it down and scratch but not to the point where it would cause scabs to form though.
