Does anyone braid their hair themselves?

It is not difficult to braid hair, it just takes a lot of patience and time. I use to braid my own hair with extensions, but did not tie my hair at night which lead to breakage, because I did them too tight. All you need to do is watch someone doing braids and then try it yourself, but don't secure tightly at the hair roots, secure them tightly leaving at least 5cm for movement.

I just kept watching my roomate in college when she did mine and other girls. I put in micro free style braids 8-10hrs and micros all the way down to my waist (about a week to do, single working mom). When it was time to take them down at 4mths I had two people helping me and tht took 12 hrs. I did them for others, on the side for a few years too. Just have to practice.

If so, how did you learn? Thanks in advance for responding. I was looking at Susan Taylor's hairstyle and was wondering how hard it would be to do her style or to do the style of Robin from www.growafrohairlong.com

I have cornrow instructions on my website with short videos. If you want to learn to braid, send me a message.

Thanks so much for all these tips, ladies. I am looking forward to more of them :D. I can count on my hand the number of times that I have had braids done. It has always lead to breakage , which completely defeats the purpose of putting them in. If I ever do them myself, I want to be able to do them myself. What's that saying, nobody can love your hair better than you, or something like that,!
