I know many people are particular about following the instructions on the Joico K Pak bottle.
Do people leave it on for a minute or a little longer?

I do. I have been mixing the reconstructor in my conditioners for protein-moisture balance and to keep my hair stronger. I have been doing this for awhile now. In fact, I have the treatment on right now with heat. (The Federal Government is closed for the holiday, so today is my wash day.)

I do the same as SP. I will mix some in w/ a nice Moisturizing DC- and DC w/ heat for 15-20 min under the dryer. The result is always strong but moisturized hair.

I leave mine on for about 5mins.

Sharifeh- not to hijack- how often do you ladies use the Joico?

thanks ladies

Toy, do you use heat or you just sit with it in the shower for 5 mins?

About 10 - 15 minutes for me. Same when I use it for my Post Relaxer/Pre-Neutralization.:yep:

Hmm, I'm thinking of mixing it with HSR before I shampoo and using it with heat or just dcing with moisture on dry hair, then using it in the shower after I shampoo as directed. decisions, decisions....

I leave mine on for 15 min then follow with a moisturizing DC every other week.

I leave it on for about 5 mins, then follow up with moisture conditioner.

do you feel you need to follow up with a moisture conditioner?

No actually I dont, my hair never feels hard after I rinse, but I know I'm supposed to, and I dont want to take chances with it

I leave mine on about 10mins and then apply a moisturizing cond afterwards. I use the kpak reconstructor once a month but I use the kpak conditioner every other week since its not a strong protein conditioner

oh ok, just to clarify I'm talking about the kpak reconstructor conditioner not the kpak deep reconstructor that comes in the little tube I don't know if that's misleading....

I use the GVP brand and I leave it in for about 30 minutes with a plastic cap.

Oh I thought you were talking bout the reconstructor! I don't really use the 1 min daily conditioner too often, I used it as a pre-poo overnight once, b/c my hair was in dire need of protein that day, I wouldnt do that very often though.

ya, I was talking about the 1 minute one, I hope it works ok as a light protein

I'm talking about this product

I use it for 5 minutes as part of the 17 minute miracle routine:

Chelating Shampoo - 5 minutes
Cuticle Sealer - 5 minutes
K-Pak Reconstructor - 5 minutes
Intense Hydrator - 2 minutes (I leave it in for 10 minutes)

I do 10mins with heat, or 30mins w/o heat. Just depends on how I am feeling.
