Does anybody here use roundbrushes??

And if so which type?? The boar bristles or the plastic ones??

I'm thinkin about gettin one to blowdry my roots during my stretches.

boar bristle are the best for the hair, they provide massive shine and are more gentle on the hair, try to find one that has softer bristles, sometimes I notice some boar bristles can be hard sometimes they soften up with use sometimes they dont.

it's supposed to be really good at getting "thicker" "coarser" hair straight, with my newgrowth I think this would be the best , they also have porcupine bristles mixed w/boar and that's supposed to be even better than boar alone

i've done alot of research on round brushes because of course I don't want my hair damaged and from experience these are really some of the best brushes with good quality bristles!

the only reason why I don't like my chi ceramic brushes is because ceramic can cause frizz and flyaways, i've tried my best to find as much info on round brushes and I read that the only negative with ceramic is they can cause frizz, I noticed with my chi brushes vs my comare brushes my hair is smoother with the comare because they aren't ceramic, with the chi I had more flyaways. the positive w/ceramic is that is dries the hair faster. but if your blowdrying dry hair then drying fast doesn't matter.

also if you can find boar mixed w/porcupine they are even better because the porcupine grips the hair better than boar alone.

but the sallys comare is a good start with boar bristles they are soft and give such great shine and the handle is very comfortable.

I like round brush blowdrying. Since I still have some relaxed ends, I will use the 7 row denman just to blend the two textures , then my Denman bristle, ceramic round brushes. The roundbrush just makes the hair smoother, IMO

LMAO! That's real talk b/c those brushes are ALWAYS filled with hair. Very damaging IMO.

Oh I a long time ago I used a small plastic round brush thinking I could use it to get close to my roots to blow out Yea I got it to my roots, but then it became tangled! Right at the crown of my head too. I had to actually cut a chunk out of my hair off because I was getting late to go someplace and I didnt have time to detangle! I will never use a small one again, but I think large boar brush is fine.

....you always make me laugh!!! Girl i'm sick as a puppy right now!...not a puppy...im grown dog sick!! But yeah i've been wondering if i should try a roundbrush again...i saw this video on youtube and the girl had one but she just used it on her roots...not all the way down....but i dunno...still debating.

I use a 100% boar bristle roundbrush by goody. I got it at Walgreens, along with a regular flat 100% boar bristle brush.

I use my Aveda Paddle Brush when I blow dry my hair at home. I find that it glides through my wet hair w/o taking out excess hair. I have so little hair loss using that brush when blowing, wow!

I also use it during the week for regular styling or wrapping my hair at night.

round brushes aren't damaging, you have to know the proper technique to use them and use a quality brush. and honestly they are not good for people who don't know how to use them, my friend tried to use one once and it got stuck in her hair lmao!!!! so now she leaves it to the pros.....it takes time to learn how to use them properly. I know some may say it's just a brush there's no technique but there is a professional technique at using them in the hands of an amateur there will be breakage, snags and worse brush stuck in hair lmao.

my experience with them are positive ones. i've never had breakage from them. you see hair in most brushes doesn't hair shed daily..............

in my pics my hair is round brushed and ummmm it's growing not breaking and it's healthy and verrrrrry shiny.

but everyone has their opinion........

I use a boar hair rond brush. I forget the brand. But I find it great for blowing out new growth. Leave the hair very shiny. I agree with technique and the brush. before I learned to use it properly it would get stuck in my hair.

Also you would need the right brush for the length and texture of your hair

Okay...so what size round brush would be recommended for almost waistlength....thick hair? And its not that thick IMO...but it aint thin either.
I'm thinking the large roundbrush or a medium sized one?

I own a round brush and bought it because I remembered stylists using it on my hair and I wanted to give it a try, honestly I need more practice, so for now I'm sticking to air drying and flat ironing.

I also own a 7 row denman (i think it's 7 rows) and this brush is the truth, I use it on wet, dry, damp hair.... but mostly on wet hair to detangle and if I was using it on dry hair, the hair has to already be tangle free.
I have had that brush for at least 2 and half years now and I used it on natural hair as well, what i love about it is that, if you apply conditioner to your hair and you want it to spread across your hair evenly, part small sections and use that brush... the outcome is amazing... anyway hope that helps

oh and i have a really small round brush as well, which i got for my bangs, I havent used it yet... lol
