Does anybody get the rubberband weave method...

I have never heard of this method, so you might want to give more info. Sometime, there are different names for the same methods and we just don't realize it.

But, I actually agree with Esoterica. When I hear rubberbands I run - let alone rubberbands and weave in the same sentence! And Esoterica has been using weaves in her journey for years now, so I trust her advice on weaves seeing how much she has progressed.

the rubberband method is when u use bands to make connecting ponytails to make a really flat surface and then the tracks are sewn on. You dont have use rubberbands. I would probably use elastic bands.

Rubberbands and glue, doesn't sound like a good combination. Why not just a sewn in weave? I think the damage depends on how long you plan on wearing this.

To answer your question dear, I use to wear the rubberband weave back in undergrad and it severely damaged my hair like this.....

Please refrain from using this method for your hair's own good!!!! I am telling you this because I want you to keep your hair on your head and not on the floor!!! Seriously!!!!

It sounds like there is nothing protective about this method at all. It is all about the fake hair and not at all about the health of the wearers hair. That is actually a problem with many of these weavers and braiders these days. They are all about "the look" and couldn't care less about what damage it takes to get there.

I heard about this the other day. My LS had it done for a hair show and she said it damaged her hair. I don't even think she had it in for a week. I can't comment on what type of bands they were, just that it was the rubber band method.

Elastic bands are the goody bands for hair and then there are plain old rubber bands.

You welcome dear! Your hair will thank you! It took me a while to rebound from that damage but I eventually did! Btw, I was using the elastic bands also. You can have a flat surface with sen weave if your stylist do small braids horizontal because the circular method makes you have a bumpy surface.
