an old friend told me that i should start doing my relaxers with canned coconut milk.. for the fact that i dont like flat roots, i just like them not soo nappy...

does anyone use this method or has anyone heard of it!??
they said i part my hair the way i wud do with the chemical relaxer and just use coconut milk...

if anyone has done this before? what exactly do you do? and how long do u keep it on? and do u dilute it with anything? let me know.. cuz its about that time and im anxious to try something thats not so damaging to my hair ....

luv u guys lol advance..

TIA

I've done this before. Some people use lime juice in it too.
For me it didn't "relax" per se, it just loosened my curl pattern for awhile.
Probably for just a week. Or until the next wash.
Which is great since I'm transitioning.
I doubt you're going to be straight like you would with a relaxer.
But there are a lot of posts about it. Just search for them. HTH.

I think a lot of people have used this method as its also in the receipe exchange board. There is also the yoghurt treatment which has the same effect.

I use coconut milk/lime during relaxer stretches in the summer. Or occasionally I use just coconut milk as a light protein rinse during the winter. I find with repeated use the relaxing type effects seem to get stronger.
