Use a rat tailed comb when wet-setting your hair to get it smooth? (Naturally after you have detangled with a wider toothed comb. If not... how do you smooth your hair?

When I do roller set (after a relaxer or on a special occasion) I do use a small toothed comb to smooth.

Yes, I use it too after my hairs detangled from a wide tooth comb first.

Only certain conditioners make a fine rats tail comb run through the hair effortlessly though. Not all. Thats one of my tests for a good conditioner.

I sometimes use a rat atil comb--it just depends on if I know where it is at the time. But I definitley agree with BRH. Not all conditioners allow you to do this.
