Do you treat all your hair the same?

I know the question sounds crazy. lol Let me try to explain what I'm asking. Do you know your sensitive areas and show them "special treatment"?

I have started using MN and I apply it to my temples, nape and back of my head only. Also I take great care combing the back because this area is the weakest, shortest and a different texture (4b) from the rest of my hair (4a).

I definitely treat parts of my hair differently. My nape hair has almost a competely different regimine than the rest. And from past mistakes I now pay extra care and attention to my ends.

When I relax, I often skip the nape and my sides/edges. For example, I retouch majority of my hair every 3 monthes. However, will retouch the nap and sides/edges (not sure what to cal it) every 6 monthes and will leave the relaxer on for least amount of time.

Its a pain in the butt sometimes but its necessay since I've got different textures and different issues going on with my hair.

Nope. I put extra conditioner on my nape areas and sometimes I will condition just the nape area if I think is it extra dry. To do this I fill a big spray bottle with warm water, part my hair and clip the rest of it up off my neck with big plastic clips. I drape a towl over my shoulders and spray the section with water until it is fully saturated. I then take conditioner (any vo5, ors replenishing pack, silk elements cholesterol or pantene mask) and finger comb through. I wait a couple of minutes and use the spray bottle and a wide tooth shower comb to rinse out the conditioner. I then use a little leave in cream and castor oil and moisturize. I keep my hair clipped up until the nape is dry.

I baby my edges with Organic Root Stimulator Serum because I'm getting rid of the thinning areas on my temples and I always put extra conditioner and moisturizer on my ends.

SQ that is an excellent question. My hairline gets extra moisture care because when I wash my face, my facial cleanser gets into my hairline and dries it out. So when I deep condition, I leave the conditoner on an extra 15 minutes. And I also add coconut oil to my hairline when I am conditioning.

I moisturize my nape more heavily, and baby my ends with lots of TLC and conditioning. I put different products on at my hairline to keep it looking smooth, because that's the first area to show NG coming in.

Your question is not crazy at all, the outer layer of my hair is more dry than the hair on my crown and nape, so when I'm deep conditioning, I usually put a regular conditioner on the hair on the crown but use a more intensive conditioner on the outer layer and ends.

The middle of my head is the worst. It's so delicate and fine and weak. If I do anything wrong that's the first place whrere I can tell. In fact it was really bad a couple of months ago.

The sides are also kind of fragile but not as bad as the middle.

I can do pretty much whatever I want to the crown, front and nape. My nape hair is probably a mixture of Teflon and Miracle grow. No matter what I do the stuff back there is strong, shiny and grows like weeds. I hacked off a good inch to even things out and I'll put money on the fact that by next month, next month, I'll have to chop it off again.

I really really really really really wish my whole head was like my nape and crown....life would be a lot easier....:ohwell:

I understand what you mean. You could have a couple of different hair textures in your head that may require special treatment, or you may have sensitive areas on your scalp. I tend to moisturize and lightly oil the ends of my hair everyday because they are so dry. But the hair toward my scalp tends to get oily very quickly, so I moisturize it, but I don't oil it as frequently.

I baby my right back side, it's a different texture than the rest and tends to get dry, back in April or may it broke right off..its coming back though ..just needs TLC

nope, always baby my middle back, its usually dry so i reply conditioner to that area in between deep conditioning , and also moisturise that are a bit more.
