Do you re-twist your hair at night with a twist out?

Just wore my 1st twist out today. I twisted them last night and took it out and loved it today.

Should I re-twist them before bed 2nite??? What do you do???

I retwisted mine the last time I wore a twist out and it lasted for quite a while. I sprayed a little leave in conditioner on my hair and put my hair in about 20 big twists. It was easier to take them down in the morning than doing a bunch of small ones.

No, I usually separate it from ear to ear and put the hair in 2 loose "ponytails" for sleeping.

I retwisted a 4 day old twistout (it was the bomb) last nite and it was too tight to wear out today, I had to pull it up into a puff.

When I was natural and doing twist outs, I didn't retwist them at night. Just put on a satin cap and went to sleep. But my hair will hold on to a curl like no one's business, relaxed or natural.

I do, I put them in big twists--amazingly this prolongs the style and actually keeps the twistout "stretched" a bit. I'd been told to this by a friend and would never do it thinking retwisting would mess up the existing twistout--but it didn't AT ALL. :)

Oh, and don't comb through it, just grabs big sections with some kind of moisturizer on your hands and then twist. I usually make about 8-10 big twists.

To maintain my moisture and keep hair from getting matted I retwist. I section off hair into about 6 sections. Add a moisturizing mix to each section, then place in a chunky twist. I don't cover, just sleep on a satin pillow. In the morning, I undo each twist and fluff with my fingers. Twistouts tend to last about 4-5days doing this.

Seems like alot of mixed responses so here's my 2cents. I def. retwist at night. I used to think that this would mess up the curl pattern but not for me. I do bigger twists at night and release in the morning and put a little castor oil or oyin burnt sugar for moisture. The main reason i do this is so I have no tangles or matting and dryness. This way each day when I retwist the hair becomes more stretched and bigger which i love. But to each is own so do what works best for your hair and enjoy :)

I normally don't. My twistouts hold pretty well so I don't need to. I just tie it down with a satin scarf so I won't wake up with my hair sticking out in weird directions.

I do this also...I can go for about a week if I dare!

Thanks so much for your responses. I retwisted them last night and I loved it today. However, I think that I will let it be tonight and then compare the results 2ma and decide how to deal with it in the future. Again, thanks so much for your responses.

If it is a big chunky-like twistout, I will retwist almost every night. But if it's a more defined twistout that was done on small to medium twists, I will not retwist.
