Did you shampoo come with the pH listed on it? If so list some please

All of Joico's products are in the 3.5-5 range.

Mine doesn't say. But how can you tell? Is there some kind of pH test that can be done?

BTW, what pH should your shampoo and hair be?

Keracare lists pH.

I dont have the bottles in front of me right now.

Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo has a ph of 5.5 (acidic).

Shampoo and hair should be in the pH range of 4.5-5.5

I'm going to test one of my shampoos now(I have the ph tape). I'll update this post when done.

I tested both of my fav 'poos
and they were both 7.0 ph (neutral to slightly alkaline).

They are natural poos one being Gary Null's poo.

I dilute them 3x, and I love how they cleanse my hair!

But you know what? The water I dilute it with is more acidic so there may be something to this PH thing...

This is a great question. I'm gonna have to find out the ph levels for my shampoos.

Keracare shampoo ph is 6.0

What does shampoo ph level mean to consumer? What is good ph level?

Shampoo and hair should be in the pH range of 4.5-5.5

I posted this comment earlier and got the info from trichologist Lisa Akbari's book "The Black Woman's Guide to Beautiful Hair". What I am posting now is directly from her book:

p.21-22

"The Right Shampoo
Always use the proper shampoo, one that is the pH of your hair and scalp. Many may think that all the shampoos are the same, but that is simply not true. Some shampoos can cause a negative buildup or cause your scalp to dry out. And many shampoos on the market today have a very high pH.

Your scalp and hair have a pH of 4.5 to 5.5. In order to have a healthy scalp and encourage hair growth, stay as close to the natural pH as possible. Never go past pH 6.

Never use all-in-one shampoos. Some shampoos claim to clean and condition hair at the same time. These shampoos never get the scalp clean and cause a flaky buildup on the hair and scalp, which at some point could lead to low- and high-level scalp damage."

I am going to start emailing companies and ask for a list of the pH's of all of their products.

Keracare 1st lather has a pH of 4.5
CON (red label) is a 6.5
My other shampoos don't list pH
