Do you know how to make ayurvedic oil infusions?

I just stick my herbs in 2 knee-highs, or cut off pantyhose, tie it up, stick it in a glass canning jar full of oil (usually coconut and jojoba for me) and stick it on my Smelter (plug-in candle warmer, $5 at WalMart) let it sit as long as I want, cool, put lid on. No having to clean a crock pot or anything. Works great! :yep:

I also leave the panty-hose full of herbs in the jar. Any herb seepage just sinks to the bottom

Such good information on this thread. I'm planning on infusing oil this weekend w brahmi, hibiscus, and amla. I will add this to my fenugreek/rosemary oil, which is a mixture of coconut and olive oil. I think that I will add rice bran oil. I noticed that sesame is used a lot for infusions, but I don't care for sesame.

I would like to use my oil as an addition to my deep conditioner, or just a hot oil treatment. Are there other ways to use these oils?
