Do you buy hair products online or in store?

I buy online mostly. Even for my shampoos which are commercial. I look for savings and dislike paying retail. If I find an in store deal I buy, like with my oils purchased at Marshalls.

Online.

Even when I used brands that I could find on the ground, I ordered them in bulk sizes online because in the long run it was cheaper.

I'm opposite of loulou82. I do most of my shopping in store, only reason is I dislike paying for shipping and WAITING for my stuff to get here. I need my stuff to be available whenever wherever when I need it. Really all I buy offline is oils and that's for camdengrey cause I can get all my stuff in bulk for pretty fair prices. But, most likely if it's not an item I can't walk to the store and buy, its not on my "Need to Have" list. :)

Online. I order far enough in advance that waiting for shipping isn't an issue. The brand I use isn't available locally.

I prefer online. But I shop sales above all else. I rarely pay retail for stuff.

For those who shop online- does shipping not make it cost prohibitive?
Also please post your fav online stores.

I 'prefer' Flat Rate or Free Shipping.

Shipping costs can definitely be a 'deal breaker' especially if the Shipping outweighs the discount.

I like:
Hairveda
AveYou *shipping for $1.00 with $50.00 purchase
Curlmart
Hattache (1st Purchases BF)
ETSY Vendors

*There are plenty of others, that offer deals on both products & shipping.

The "What's On Sale This Month" Thread is a good starting point. And it's maintained Monthly.

I agree with this. Also, I like to smell products before I buy them. I like knowing that if I need to, I can run out with a wet head, or with DD under the dryer and get what I need. I also like being able to return something with little problem. I hate the thought of shipping a return. I can count the hair items I've bought online (End All, MegaTek and Avocado Mist, Elucence con, Sabino Moisture Block, Lacio, and Silicon Mix).

Both. I try to get as much as possible in the store, but for essential oils and handmade products- online for sure.

My KeraCare humecto in the HUGE tub is better priced online .. in fact, I don't think I've ever seen it inside of any store.

Both. Shampoo I need to find on the ground because I never know when Im running out. Likewise with heat protectant.

For everything else, online only. I prefer black-owned businesses. Silk Dreams, Darcys, Hairveda, Curly Kinks, Anuessentials, Naturelle Grown, Pura Body Naturals (I hope).

I only make purchases online during sale promotions, similar to IDareT'sHair. Even if it's an item I can locate in-store, my preference is to shop online. I can leisurely click away in my PJs at 3am while sipping a cup a tea, as opposed to enduring blistering winds, scorching deserts and annoying people who drive haphazardly and yell into their cellphones.

Your summation was beautiful:love2:

Or driving someplace to get an item and get there and it's OOS or not the right one etc....

So, not to make it a wasted trip, you might pick up something you really didn't want/need.

At least on-line I can somewhat control that.

And I don't mind 'the wait' because usually I'll either have a back up or something that does something similar.

I would prefer to shop in stores.. BUT, I'm pretty much forced to shop online. All the good stuff is online now a days lol! Especially if I want to buy deluxe sized products.

I buy mainly online, but seriously considering finding things on the ground or making them myself. Going forward, I am going to limit online purchases to a few things.

Both but lately I've been on a search to find products on the ground because I didn't stock up like I was supposed to.

I like online products. I have picked up a few items at Walgreens but I prefer to order favorites. I do not like the ingredients in a lot of the store products. I think that Walgreens has better items than Sally's. I do go there to get my caps and like equipment.

I tend to buy online... I find most things cheaper. I can find between $4-$6 difference for Aubrey Organics online than marked up n a store

I would prefer to buy in a store but I have found some staple products online.

I'm not above opening a product up to look at the consistency and get a whiff if it's sitting on a shelf. Quite frankly, if I had been able to do that with a lot of the online purchase I've made, a lot of that stuff would have never been ordered.

I'd say 95% online, but I'm currently trying to make a short list of products on the ground that I can use for those desperate times. I've been caught off guard one too many times where I'm out of town and forgot something important

In store. I used to order online a while ago but that didn't last for long. I don't go out of my way so it's just as easy as shopping online. If I'm at the salon getting my hair done, I may pick up a conditioner. If I'm grocery shopping at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, I may grab some hair products as well.

:lachen: This is me as well. I prefer online for my conditioners and leave ins. I will pick up stuff like heat protectant and gel in store. I have enough products to where if wash day comes along, I can survive until I receive my products. I never really "run out" of products. Something is always available. Also I only buy on sale, during which I stock up until the next decent sale comes along.

I like shopping online. The ingredients for in store products are crappy. But im sick of the inconsistency with handmade products. I want to support black businesses and get stuff on the ground whenever I need it

Both. I buy ingredients to make my own conditioner, leave in, and oil infusions online, and I buy herbs, oils, and gels from local stores.

Online mostly. I buy wholesale or in bulk, twice a year for my staples. This keeps me stocked up for months at a time and is cheaper. It also discourages PJism since I rarely need anything.

I buy everything except one in the store. My hair's needs are very simple (see siggy) + I like looking at products in the store. I end up spending way too much money online.
