cause i totally do. that's one of the reasons it's hard for me to give up my beloved (though too expensive) Nexxus products. i love how they smell! washing my hair is total aromatheraphy. It's one of the reasons i've been able to stick to my regime so easily. anybody else like that?

Yes I do. If it came down to two products that were the same in every way, the one that smells good will be coming home with me.

Me too, and if somebody is with me I make them smell it too.

^ I DO THAT TOO!!! and then they're like: "why are you making me smell this if you're not buying it?" they just don't get it.

I've never purchased anything because it smelled good, but I've continued to use a product because of its scent. <-- I hope that makes sense.

Normally when I purchase products its because it was either raved about, or the ingrediants seemed beneficial to my hair. The scent is just an added bonus --- but one that only lasts until I wash it out!

Um, not really. I have a little order that I go by.

1. ingredients
2. price
3. lhcf raves
4. smell and consistency

Not solely on smell.

If there is a product that works well, but the smell isn't that great-only tolerable, I will buy it.

If it smells wonderful, but doesn't do what I need it to do, I'm not buying it.

If there is a product that smells horrendous ( I can't tolerate it)- I won't buy it, even if it works. I would probably keep searching. Luckily there haven't been too many products that smell really bad to me.

I sometimes (not always) smell products before buying them.

But if I buy a stinky/overpowering smelling product I'll never be buying it again.

I dont buy them based on how they smell. I I buy them based on how they feel. I get product recs from the ladies on lhcf. I'll rub a small dab of the product between my fingers, and if it feels 'emollient' (like Elucence MB, or that kids organic shea butter detangling conditioning leave in stuff, for instance). If it feels emollient then it is an IMMEDIATE BUY! If it feels moisturizing and it dries without being not even a tad bit sticky or greasy, then there is a very good chance that i'll buy it. It can be a tad bit oily, but it can't be sticky or greasy at all....

Somewhat, Most of my favorite products have a pleasant sweet scent to me (i.e. Talia Waajid Herbal Enhancing Conditioner, Avalon Organics Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Conditioner, Paul Mitchel Tea Tree Shampoo, Mizani Night-Time Treatment, and Asha's Heavenly Pudding) or they smell like fresh fruit (i.e. Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner, Myhoneychild Products, and The Jane Carter Solution Cremes).

However, quite a few of my favorites don't smell as pleasant but I can't live without them; KeraCare Humecto is my favorite hair product of all time but every time I use it the fragrance reminds me of mayonnaise and I feel like I'm putting a casserole in my hair, lol. But other than the Humecto and a few additional products most of my hair products smell great to me.

I can't use products that I think have a really bad smell to them. I'd be paranoid all day if every time I turned my head I got a whiff of something funky :ohwell: .

Interestingly though, some product smells that I didn't like at first grew on me. The first time I smelled Qhemet's Sidr Tree Butter I was like . But now I actually like the smell and it doesn't seem as strong to me now that I've gotten used to what it's supposed to smell like.

Same here. I can't deal with stuff that stinks. I am a sniffer. One lady at the Asain BSS said, "You can't open that." I was just smelling it. I understood her point, but I wanted her to understand mine. If I dont like the way it smell why waste my money on it? So I left her products with her in her store.

Im the same way, too. I like products that smell good. I just cant deal with the stinky smells. For example, I bought some WGO and returned it, even though most ladies here love it. I just couldnt get over that stinky smell.( I dont mean to offend anyone that uses WGO-whatever floats your boat, baby!! )
