When I steam my face, I always add a drop of peppermint oil. As I sit here under the hair steamer, I'm thinking whether I could do the same. Have any of you ever used additives in your hair steamer's water?

I don't but please be carful! I have heard of this eventually shorting out hair steamers! I cleaned mine once with vintages as was instructed and still suffered it glitching.

I have added one or two drops of EOs to my huetiful steamer. I wouldn't add too many. The heat with the oil could cause issues with the plastic.

I was thinking something along those lines. I don't want to mess up my steamer.

I haven't done anything to it, but I was wondering. You make a good point about shorting it out. I hadn't thought about that. I'll leave well enough alone! I love my steamer too much to mess with it!

I also Stopped Steaming in 'stuff' like Clay.

I had used a Product that had Pink Clay in it and I noticed that the Water Reservoir and the water in the little receptacle bottle had both turned Pink, so I stopped doing that too.

I didn't want to take any chances ruining any parts or clogging up anything.
