The proof is in the pudding.
The girl with the banging hair is obviously doing the right practices for her hair. She aint on a messageboard looking for help:look:, thats for sure. I would laugh at any chick with less hair than her trying to call her out for bad hair practices. Folks found cowashing and ayurveda 3 weeks ago, and are now experts and gangbanging folks on Youtube? LHCF way aint the only way, and she has already achieved what most folks on this board would give their right arm for.

Basically. :look: Her hair is long and looks healthy so she must be doing something right. I'd take advice from her over somebody b@ld headed. This board can make people think their way is the only way sometimes. You have to pick and choose what works for you. What may be deemed bad by one person may work fine for your hair and vice versa. Shoot I do a lot of stuff to my hair that members here would clutch their pearls about but it works for me. It really boils down to if it's not broke, don't fix it.

This did occur to me, but then, if they both had long flowing locks there would be no discussion, this IS LONG haircare forum, even on here we have different practices that doesn't work for everyone, but would for some. For the 2nd youtuber I'd love to know her reggie cause I'm sure she takes decent care of her hair which is why it looks so good!

@ the bolded: This always bothered me on this site. It gives me the urge to ask the taboo question: "Do you think your white?" Cause I don't know WHICH 3 a/b/c 4 a/b individual can flat iron their hair PIN STRAIGHT with one or two swipes of the flat iron :ohwell: Really now? My Chinese bff with type ONE hair even has to swipe it several times to get that maximum straightness. Our hair is fragile.. yes but dayum.

YES! This bothers the heck out of me too...I mean look, nobody should be flatironing everyday or anything, but when you do it, shoot commit! Get your hair straight, rock it, and then put that bad boy up for a while. Honestly, its this one pass mess that had me scared to textlax, because I was thinking texlaxers have the poofiest/frizziest flat ironed heads i've ever seen. But then I thought about my 4b natural friend (and countless other naturals) that get their hair professionally falt ironed and you would think they had a fresh perm. The difference....stylist ain't scared of many passes...I'm not saying over do it...but like the bolded, 1 or 2 passes ain't gonna cut it for most 4 hairtypes (and I doubt 3s either)....

I'm 4a, texlaxed with VERY mild Phyto index 1. I only need 2 passes with the flat iron and my hair is never poofy. BUT, I do very small sections at a time, no product except heat protectant and I use a Sedu which is an awesome iron, and I turn that sucker almost ALLLLL the way up. I'm not afraid of high heat. When I was natural it took about 10 passes with the maxiglide up as high as it would go, with the steam and the teeth and it still wasn't the texture or silkiness I wanted. That's why I ended up texturizing. It can be done, but not on 200 degrees and you need a good iron.

Me either. But the second girl had very pretty hair.

I don't get the youtube bashing thing at all, either way. It accomplishes nothing.

There are double standards here... but in the case of the two youtube videos in question... that was NOT an example of a double standard. The second girls has looked quite nice and healthy and flat iron technique wasn't out the way or bizarre... thats just how you get most textured hair straight. But like the other ladies have stated different strokes for different folks.

I couldn't have said it better myself:grin::grin::grin:. I didnt see what was so 'bad' about it. she was just flat ironing her hair, she detangled it first and flowed with a brush.

I did not see a problem with the second video...I'm trying to figure out why her vid would be put on blast as bad hair practices, by the looks of her hair she is doing everything right........Im not discussing the first one
