Girl with bad hair practices GRILLED!!!!!

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=354583

Girl with bad hair practices worshipped.

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=354757

Whats your opinion on these threads.........

i cringed when i saw both videos...... but was amazed that people were not posting messages saying how the girl with long flowing hair should be enlightened......i feel they could BOTH potentially teach people viewing practices that could be bad for the hair.

ok i know some of you are tempted to grill me....please dont *gulp* :hide:......i mean no offense......:nono:

Frankly, I'm tired of people here posting videos of people with "bad" hair care practices and feeling that it's necessary to "enlighten" them.

It's just wrong IMO. If you feel it's so necessary to "correct" them, especially when they didn't ask for your help in the first place, send them a nice message via youtube. Don't start a thread here bashing them, that's just petty and mean-spirited.

Isn't this LHCF, don't we just LOOOOVE hair and enjoy a little hair porn from time to time?

The first video wasn't that grilled. I think i've seen worst youtube videos thread with straight up mean comments.

On the second video.. It might not agree with that the majority of this forum believe in but, whatever she is doing to her hair seems to be working for her really well!

I also think that there is a difference between teaching styling methods and hair care methods. From what i saw, they both are not claiming that the techniques shown in their videos is ''what will make your hair healthy and long and yadada''. That was not the purpose!

Also, whoever watches these clips should do researches before applying this method their own hair.. and if they don't eh i don't know what else to say:ohwell: lol

I dont know if this answered the thread question lol.. its late im suposed to be asleep and i tend to talk and talk and talk lol

Thats very true.........no right or wrong answers, just interested in peoples opinions...thanks Kitten45.

I believe that a double standard does exist here, but what you gave arent the best examples imo. The second girl with long hair isnt doing anything majorly wrong imo, she pretty much doing the comb chase with what appears to be a brush instead.

This whole blasting people from YouTube here has really gone overboard and is pointless. I know that I would have no interest in a "helping hand" after a thread is started to pretty much talk down on me.

I would like to see more videos featuring women with good hair practices . I have only seen a few ,so far, featured on this forum.

Definately double standards here.

That whole holier than thou attitude is getting really annoying.

The proof is in the pudding.
The girl with the banging hair is obviously doing the right practices for her hair. She aint on a messageboard looking for help:look:, thats for sure. I would laugh at any chick with less hair than her trying to call her out for bad hair practices. Folks found cowashing and ayurveda 3 weeks ago, and are now experts and gangbanging folks on Youtube? LHCF way aint the only way, and she has already achieved what most folks on this board would give their right arm for.

Bad practise or not, clearly it is working for one and not the other. I do not think it is double standards.

I agree with this WRT examples used.

With the first girl, I think a lot of them women were sincere, but I think they picked the wrong medium. They should have just sent her a pm on youtube and left it at that. Or they could have at least deleted the post once others decided to pm her too.

I don't mind videos being posted here, but I hate when people go back to youtube and start making really nasty comments over there. There is a nice way to tell people that their hair practices will leave them bald. Hostility makes people even more resistant to new ideas.

So... let's chill. We can't even get the women in our real lives to give two shizes about hair care, so why worry about random women online?

Actually we are not the hair gods therefore it doesn't make their way wrong or our way right. Nasty comments on some ones youtube page then directing them to come here, those are the ones that needs to be enlightened.

Maybe some feel like hair messiahs, sent here to spread the good word, be a messiah and all but do it nicely, not everyone cares about hair, and/or wants long hair.

These two videos are somewhat oranges and apples to me. The first girl was putting in a relaxer and using heat on what looks like severly damaged hair that no one will ever cosign on LHCF. The second girl is just flat ironing her hair and her hair looks to be in excellent condition. Alot of people say they can maintain healthy hair using heat so that really won't draw that much negativity towards her. As far as putting people from Youtube on blast on here is a little sketchy but it happens and will continue I am sure.

Well whoever the first girl is I'll never know. She must've felt harassed because her video is now set to private.

The proof is in the pudding.

This is so true! People really do need to mind their own business. Like being on a hair board gives them the right to pass out the business card.

Honestly, I never really see the ladies here that really represent when it comes to hair passing out the LHCF card.

I think it has a lot to do with the length. The girl with the long hair may have bad hair care practices (to some) but in their minds, she must be doing something right because her hair was long.

The second girl didn't have long hair, so I think people equated the fact that her hair wasn't long to her hair care practices.

I have a friend that has BSL hair and she washes it once a month, it stinks, and if she shakes her head, huge flakes of dandruff comes out of it...yet in the 15 years I've known her, she has always maintained the same length...at times even longer.

Even though that sounds disgusting, a lot of people would say, "Well what works for her won't work for everybody."

Now I'm grazing SL, but if I put up a video with some of the bad things that these ladies were doing, I think people would jump all over it stating "That's why you don't have any hair!"

SMS shrugs.....

Preach Bint! The girl with the long, thick, natural hair using heat seems to be practicing healthy hair care practices to me! I said it before and I'll say it again. Natural hair that is well taken care of can take heat styling. Why is that so hard to understand. This is a message board dedicated to women seeking healthy, long hair, so of course the girl with the LONG, PRETTY, THICK, hair is going to get major props!
I don't see a double standard!

I agree! And I'll say again...any hair taken care of well can take heat styling when done properly!

Thank you!!! Couldn't have said it better myself. This holier than thou nonsense is getting old and it's pathetic. Lots of people with long, healthy, beautiful hair constantly infringe LHCF taboos, just like lots of people who follow some LHCF 'manual' find that their hair has taken a turn for the worse since joining. Everyone's hair is different.

Maybe some feel like hair messiahs, sent here to spread the good word, be a messiah and all but do it nicely, not everyone cares about hair, and/or wants long hair.

Right. If you care so much, send them a PM, but at the end of the day, that hair is growing out of THEIR head. Ateeya uses a lot of heat and protein, and although that might not help her get past a certain length, it's still BANGIN' as is. I'm yet to see many (even on here) with the same swing to their hair.

LOL.

We stay calling people out on this board. Whether it was the threads mentioned in the OP or this very thread...

I didn't look at the first example but for the other girl, I agree that her hair looks like it may be natural and it appears to be VERY healthy. The multiple passes with the flat iron seemed necessary.

Whoo, that gave me the laugh I needed this afternoon

It's just all very silly and it makes us look bad. I wish that LHCF people would stop calling others out period.

Google almost any hair topic and a thread from this forum will pop us. We're very easy to find if people are looking.

@ the bolded: This always bothered me on this site. It gives me the urge to ask the taboo question: "Do you think your white?" Cause I don't know WHICH 3 a/b/c 4 a/b individual can flat iron their hair PIN STRAIGHT with one or two swipes of the flat iron :ohwell: Really now? My Chinese bff with type ONE hair even has to swipe it several times to get that maximum straightness. Our hair is fragile.. yes but dayum.

The woman with the longer hair gets more love because her hair looks healthy. But I'm sure a lot of us know women who do the same things the girl in video #1 did and have hair in the middle of their back.

Yep. It is out of hand at this point. I won't make any vids- due to the Drama.:nono:

Every person making a video on You tube - is not necessarily an expert on any particular subject.

Nothing that wasn't already said, but I see fault in video #1 because the way her hair looks shows that she needs better techniques -- she might not know what "works", you feel me? I seriously doubt she is weaving it up for the reasons women on LHCF do it. She may be one of those people who doesn't want help once it is given to her, but at that age I know my hair looked the way it did because no one told me any better.

Girl #2 may use the flat iron a lot but she has a solid regimen and clearly isn't suffering from using too little or too much of ANYTHING. She knows what "works".

Not a double standard IMO.

Thank you!!!!!:lachen: This is kilking me! :ohwell:

It is much like the "eggs" or "steam" posts. I am quick to say that I am not the 1st person to think of it...

But - boy -Suddenly - when something old is "rediscovered" other folks will be DAMNED if you say anything about it/against it......Although - they joined a week ago.

I just don't comment. I don't HAAAVE to give input.

As I said - Just because you post - here - or on YouTube - That does not make you an expert on anything.

For the record - I do not consider my self an expert on ANYTHING hair.
